"Overnight stay."
Pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews. Spacious twin bedded room and excellent bathroom. Paid extra for sea view but couldn't see out of windows as very dirty. Excellent breakfast and nice dining room. Would stay again.

One night stay as an unexpected visit to the UK from Australia due to a family illness. Chose the hotel based on the excellent TripAdvisor reviews. Beautiful hotel. Friendly efficient service. Clean well equipped room. After a 24h flight we were in need of a good nights sleep which we got due to the quiet location, thickly lined curtains and a very comfortable bed. Had an evening meal in the room - room service was easy to order and with both of us being vegetarian there was plenty of choice. Used the gym in the morning which wasn't too crowded & enough good quality equipment. The range of food for breakfast was amazing and again polite efficient staff serving the restaurant. We were disappointed to leave The East Sussex National and is one the best hotels we've had the pleasure of staying.

"Bit of luxury for an overnight stay"
Spent a weekend at Ashdown Park- glorious weather so nothing better than lazing on the terrace overlooking the beautiful grounds. Room lovely with triple aspect, staff attentive and efficient, bar very good. Breakfast is only okay compared with other luxury hotels and I think a round of 9 hole golf should be thrown in with the price of the room rather than extra. It's not a cheap weekend but on balance, worth it for a special treat.

"Nice hotel next to the beach. "
This hotel is certainly 'grand' and with its many seating areas, maintains true Victorian style. Good location at the quiet end of the sea view road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean & comfortable with all the facilities; tea, coffee, TV and modern bathroom. The Garden Restaurant had ambience and the food was varied and flavoursome; however, service in the evening was at times, slow. The indoor pool is small and too warm for my liking, but outdoor pool lovely. Treatments are available but need to book on arrival to ensure a slot. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to relax; not really suitable for children.

"All good but a couple of snags"
The room and facilities were excellent BUT if attending a wedding there is room for improvement. The paths are shingle so useless if wearing heels and the external lighting is poor but worst of all of 175 gueats for a buffett the food ran out leaving 60 guests only sandwiches which were rationed to 2 each and a handful of Tortillas. This is no joke they actually ran out of food which is unforgivable and no apology was made to guests. How would they likee it if it was their wedding and 60 of their guests were not fed properly despite being paid to cater for ALL guests.DISGUSTING.Catering Manager should be sacked.

"Nice hotel. "
Lovely hotel that's very handy for all of Brightons attractions. The staff are very nice. The hotel is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. We parked out the front which worked out at £11.20 a day which is a lot cheaper than other areas of Brighton. Would definitely recommend. We were on the third floor which helped work breakfast off!

"Excellent location, attractive 3* rating Hotel."
Professional service ,excellent food .a character hotel in an ideal location.Only issues were that the room, although sea view, was restricted in size and limited access to balcony and beach. The bathroom was dated and the shower badly requires re grouting -black mold to base and edges. However cleaning of room not to blame or staff. Fair value only for the price.

Pocket Guide: Spa Hotels in East Sussex

Spa hotels are perfect for relaxing weekends away with the girls, mother-daughter breaks and luxury hen dos. There's plenty of relaxation therapy for men too, so whatever occasion you're planning, there are plenty of spa hotels in East Sussex to give you lots of choice. Giving you superb facilities, exquisite treatments and some much-needed rest and relaxation, a spa hotel is the ideal place to spend a de-stressing break.

What You Get from an East Sussex Spa Hotel

The very least you can expect from your spa hotel is a range of amenities such as a sauna, Jacuzzi and swimming pool. In addition to this, the majority will also offer a variety of spa treatments that can be booked before you arrive or after you've checked in. These can include massage, facials, manicures, pedicures and other therapies to have you completely relaxed and looking even more radiant.

In your room, you can expect a touch of luxury with sumptuous furnishings, elegant styling and a gleaming bathroom. The majority of spa hotels have a restaurant and bar on-site as well, so you can enjoy a fantastic meal and some bubbly after your treatments to celebrate your occasion - whether that's toasting the bride-to-be or just a weekend away from it all.

Nights Out near Spa Hotels in East Sussex

Although you're there for some much needed pampering, you may not want to spend your entire break in the hotel. If you are with a hen party or out on a mother-daughter weekend, you will probably want at least one night out on the town! The resort towns of Brighton, Hastings and Eastbourne are perfect for this, with plenty of bars and restaurants and easily accessible by taxi or public transport if you're staying out of town.

You may be just out for a meal or it could be a full night of dancing, either way once you're ready to head back, you'll have a luxurious room to sleep in and perhaps even more unwinding spa treatments the next day. Whatever the reason or occasion, East Sussex has a spa hotel that's perfect for some serious pampering and 'me' time.
