Great location, near the train station and trams. A safe area with restaurants and supermarkets nearby. A short walk into the city centre. Helpful 24 hour reception with luggage store. The room was pleasant, simple, modern, clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, perhaps a little soft. The shower worked well but no shelf or holder for shampoo etc. I couldn't access the internet over the wifi. A very useful city transport pass is included.

Located next to a COVID testing site with homeless people spending the nights next door. Towels were brown and with stains. One small bar of soap for 3 night stay. WiFi was not working the entire time.

Simple hotel next the train station. They gave us tickets for free transportation, that we used to get a discount to buy tickets to go to Cologne.

Great value for money
Nice hotel situated close to the main railway station. Ok - it's not the poshest but perfectly adequate for a one night stop off and definately great value for money especially that breakfast and a local transport ticket were included.

Good location, nice hotel.
Wifi was super weak. I had a small room, but it was enough. And bathroom was very nice I thought; great shower. Area around doesn't look great, but you're super close to Schumacher and a short walk to old town. You're right next to central station. They give you a pass for local trains too. Very nice staff.

It’s a YMCA too close to the wrong end of town. Noise and lights in the room make it hard to sleep. Showers were too small and not very safe. Might be ok if I was a kid backpacking across Europe but for my wife and I in our 60’snot a good place to stay.

This is not a fancy hotel
This is a YMCA Hotel like the ones they have a New York. It is not a fancy hotel but is worth every single penny. It's greatly located a block the Dusseldorf train station. The staff is friendly and available 24/7. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are clean you have options for one person w single bed. It might not be a boutique hotel with the fanciest furniture but it's perfect for somebody that is planning on going around city to know it and sleep at the hotel and have a delicious breakfast in the morning

Excellent value for such a centrally located hotel
Fantastic location 120m from train station. Large room. Good shower. Basic but functional furnishing. My only complaint is that the Wifi was quite poor in my room. Overall great value.

Very good hotel for budgeted travellers. It is very close to Düsseldorf main station. They will offer a transport card for having free tram, underground and train within the city. It reli surprised me a lot.

Cheap but unbearably noisy.
The rooms are small but clean and functional with lots of wardrobe space and a desk. The bathroom is also small but OK. The beds are reasonably comfortable apart from the large very fluffy pillow and the fitted flannel undersheet which might be Ok in the winter but not in the summer. The biggest problem by far is the lack of air conditioning, as outside the hotel in the front it is very very noisy. Therefore when it is warm you want to leave the windows dopen but cannot do so due to the music/shouting and partying outside - going on until 5am the first night and also the trams who pass outside until very late and start again very early. This means the room becomes very hot and sleep was virtually impossible. As a minimum a fan could be provided to cool the rooms down. Another issue for us was despite booking the room in March and asking for a non smoking room when we got to our room we found it was one of the 9 smoking rooms in the hotel. When we queried this with the receptionist he rather unhelpfully shrugged his shoulders and said "we are full".That was the end of the discussion!This compounded the window problem as we again needed to open the windows in a smoking room we did not want or expect to be in. It may be relatively cheap but we would definitely not return.

Very convenient hotel for transport links
We were pleasantly surprised how nice a hotel the CVJM was and within 5 minutes of the main station and all transport links. At only 12 minutes from the airport by train (S11) its a breeze. The breakfast is continental but with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and cheery. Especially on the reception and at breakfast. What makes the hotel even better is that when you arrive you are given a pass entitling you to free transport on busses trams and trains throughout the region for the duration of your stay - including the return train to the airport when your stay ends! We went everywhere. Make a point of visiting Wuppertal and riding the swing train - its an amazing experience and your pass covers the price too. So what about the not so good points? Only one really. Our room faced the main road and with the trams starting around 4am it takes a little time to get used to the rumble and being in a predominantly Turkish area there was quite a lot of shouting from young revellers visiting a club nearby in the early hours. But in fairness it was New Year so we didn't care. Ask for a room away from the main road if you prefer peace and quiet. We loved Dusseldorf and will be going back again this year - Hopefully to the CVJM.

We had two rooms and my experience was better than my companion's. I had a comfortable double bed, but he had a single, and the single was quite tiny, though he had a large bathroom (std Euro shower tho). Front desk was really friendly and helpful, however, and they made up for some otherwise unpleasant things. We had an early departure, so they offered to give us sack lunches, and even made us coffee just before leaving. Wifi was not good and required log in after just a few minutes of being offline. It often would just quit working, too, in the middle of a download/upload. The neighborhood is heavily under construction, making parking and access a nightmare. Not the hotel's fault tho! Just a pain. The location is very central, with just a short walk to the Hauptbahnhof, and getting to amazing shopping and restaurants is very quick and easy (15 mins walk to Gucci). There's even an excellent Italian restaurant just a few doors down, "astore". Don't park any length of time at the Hauptbahnhof...there is a convenient parking garage for only 6 Euro overnight just around the block, while the Hbf is really expensive. The hotel manager will guide you. If you need to be central, it's a decent budget hotel, but I wouldn't recommend for business travelers like us.

You can't get a better deal than this
You can't possibly go wrong with this hotel. For such a small price, you get breakfast, wi-fi, a bus pass, complimentary bottle of water, convenient location, excellent service. Checking in and out were both quick and painless. The room was clean. It was a small room, as you would expect in Germany, but still comfortable. Breakfast was simple but had all you would need. The service was efficient and friendly. I asked to leave my luggage in the hotel after checking out and they had no problem with this. Location is very convenient for train travelers, as walking to the main train station is just a few minutes. Public transportation is also easily accessible, and you get a bus pass for free! Wi-fi had no good reception in my room, but it worked great in the lounge and didn't require any problematic log in process or password. You even get a bottle of sparkling water for free! I was very impressed by how many convenient amenities this hotel offers for such a low price, while still being kept clean and with a friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

Back for the third time.
In Dusseldorf on business and I find the location,very close to the main railway station, restaurants etc exellent. The staff are most helpful, very good value for money and with the free ticket for public transport you could not ask for more. The rooms are adequate and clean not luxurious but for the price paid most acceptable. The breakfast buffet could not be faulted.

This was my second stay at this hotel and everything as before. Friendly staff at check in, clean room and good location close to the main railway station. Good value for money and the bonus of a free ticket for public transport within the Dusseldorf area is an added bonus.
