"I checked this morning, and the property is still shown as being in Vaison La Romaine, still claims to be a short walk from the sights of Vaison, and the map show this to be the case. However, this is a total LIE. The house is in Saint Maurice sur Eygues, which is more than 15mins from Vaision by Car. The owner was quick to offer us 100 euros (so he obviously knew) but this didn't cover the cost of us staying in Vaison for two nights to spend time with the friends we were supposed to meet there....

"This was a perfect stay for us. The villa is just outside the main town (which was much larger and livelier than we had anticipated, a good choice of supermarkets and an excellent bakery.) "The property was clean and tidy, with a lovely outdoor terrace. The pool was a welcome relief from the scorching temperatures, and after a hot day sightseeing it was lovely to take a refreshing dip. The gite is located an easy 10 minute amble into Vaison - a bustling market town with all the facilities one could need. There are some quirks - there is only one loo, which is downstairs whilst the shower room is upstairs. There is also no wash hand basin in the loo. Also, the VRBO listing states...

Seule petite déception, la piscine agréable et dans un joli jardin, est située dans la maison de la propriétaire à 800m (10 minutes à pied) du logement, ce que l'annonce ne mentionnait pas. "Great location for us. We made lots of day trips to markets, Ardèche kayaking, sight seeing, visiting vineyards and wine tasting. Everything was between 30-60 minutes drive which was perfect. The property was well equipped with everything you need. A lovely touch with the welcome basket for our first night and enjoyed by all. The air conditioning was a godsend in the beautiful 40 degree heat, making for a comfortable night’s. sleep. Great to have all towels and pool towels and linens provided....

"We loved our stay at Fred's house. Fred is great with communication. He responds really quickly to my texts. His house is located at the base of the medieval village, about 3 minutes from the Roman bridge. It takes no time to get anywhere in Vaison from this house. My husband and I took trips to different places every day, but loved coming back to the house, sitting on the little balcony and watch all the action on the street. I loved the view as well."

"All six of us - two 17 year olds and 4 adults - couldn't get over how lovely the house and its grounds were. We felt transported to a different world, lounging around the pool and terraces. So much space in the house to relax too - loved the moroccan lounge, and loved the fact that it was obviously a well loved family home, not just an impersonal rental house. Such a boon to have a lively town and the medieval village on our doorstep. Many thanks too to Pierre for being so kind in picking up...

"positiv: host is very kind view is exceptionnel (straight view of the mont ventoux) no direct neighbour quiet neighbourhood great pool 11m long House outside looks like on the pictures. negativ: more than 5min walk to get to the center of Vaison-la-Romaine beds are not very comfortable ( mattress maybe too old?) air conditioning is only one unit! Not enough to keep the temperature pleasant. Above all when there are 40+ degrees…even at 30+ the air conditioning had some problems to cool down....
