The hotel could use a major face lift, it looks old and dirty once you arrive. Do not judge a book by its cover because the rooms are actually very nice and spacious! The shower head is amazing! I was staying here because I had a model fitting that ran late.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, huge and comfortable and great value. We will definitely stay here again.
Our only gripe was that they were in the midst of renovations and on a Sunday we were awakened by the sounds of hammering. On Monday, furniture was being moved at 7AM above us, again waking us.
These things are temporary and wouldn't stop us from visiting again.
The rooms are a bit small and there are no ice machines on the floor. You have to call down to have it sent up which is kind of strange given they have a mini-bar/fridge setup (with no ice/freezer). The staff is totally nice though and it was very clean and the facilities are in excellent condition.
"Great location, great apartment, great service. "
I think this should be a five-star hotel apartment. The staff was so attentive it was incredible. Before staying there they called me multiple times, during and afterwards to make sure everything was to our liking. Very impressed. Highly recommend it.
The hotel is located right across the street from the Verizon Center so it is very convenient. The lobby is a really cool funky place but it does honor the historic nature of the building. The rooms are small, like any big city, but they are very nice.
Pocket Guide: Washington Downtown Washington D.C. Hotels
Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.
