From booking to check out everything was terrific.
I had an unusual situation in which I had travelled to Washington DC to obtain a last minute travel visa.
The hotel was within 5 minutes walk of the Consulate - thank goodness!
When I discovered I didn't have the needed paperwork, the front dest attendant was extremely helpful in getting the documents - she even allowed me to use her computer at the front desk to fill out the requisite form. She printed the form for me and even gave me the adhesive to affix my photo.
I wish I had gotten her name- I can't tell you how much I appreciated her kindness and thoroughness.
I was very impressed with the service provided by the staff in answering any questions I had. I particularly liked the fact that the bellhop team greeted you at the door including the fact that some of them knew my name to greet me.
The hotel is in a great location with Georgetown, the Lincoln memorial and the white house all being within a twenty to 30 minute walk of the hotel. There is also a metro station close by and one of the hop on/hop off bus tour loops stops is right outside the hotel.
Second time at the Morrison Clark and must say that the renovations completed since our last visit in 2013 have truly turned it into a top notch hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Brunch and drinks at the restaurant/bar were great. The room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and cannot be beat considering the reasonable cost.
Very centrally located hotel - 10 minute walk to National Mall & Smithsonian Museum attractions, and 5 minute walk to the White House and Executive Offices.
Room was clean. While the hotel was not overly "luxurious", it had all of the necessary accompaniments.
I would recommend steering clear of the hotel eateries (i.e. Cabinet and Cure). They are overpriced and there are many more affordable and enjoyable options nearby.
Boutique-like hotel. Staff was very accommodating. Rooms appeared recently updated and very clean. Décor was great. Bed and mattress were really comfortable. Had a great sleep for a change! Walking distance to many restaurants. Recommend.
Pocket Guide: Washington Downtown Washington D.C. Hotels
Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.
