The best area to stay in Dorf is the Altstadt (Old Town), which is the historic heart of the city. The Altstadt is wonderfully central and very walkable, characterised by its cobbled streets and traditional timber-framed houses. It's home to the main market square, Marktplatz, where you'll find the historic Rathaus (Town Hall) and the iconic St. Martin's Church. Many of Dorf's best restaurants and boutique shops are clustered in this area, making it very convenient for exploring on foot.Couples often find the Altstadt particularly appealing. Its quaint streets, historic architecture, and abundance of cosy eateries create a lovely setting for a romantic getaway. Strolling along the riverbank, just a short walk from the Marktplatz, is also a delightful way to spend an afternoon. For those looking for a slightly quieter yet still central experience, the area just south of the Altstadt, towards the Stadtpark (City Park), offers a good balance. It's still within easy walking distance of all the Altstadt's attractions but provides a more residential feel with less evening foot traffic.
