"We stayed at this hotel as family and guests to attend a wedding. The hotel is on several acres of well manicured lawns and an excellent place for nightlife in terms of watching the stars and just relaxing out in nature. The staff were very helpful and we observed a sense of camaraderie between them and how happy they seem to be working in that environment. The hotel itself is full of character as it must’ve been built in the 1800s and have an excellent history as it was initially a privately owned home, a private school at one time as well as a hospital during the war and now it is owned by a private group. The food is excellent, there were items I didn’t like for breakfast however other visitors were happy with it. I stayed in this hotel during the severe heat and unfortunately, although there was a fan in my room, it was very uncomfortable to sleep because the hotel does not have air-conditioning (AC) which is a downfall, but no doubt the hotel will be comfortable in the winter as there are radiators in the rooms"

"We had to change rooms because our door would not lock and toilet would not flush. We waited an hour for maintenance but no one came, we had booked a meal so had to leave our room unlocked. We returned 2 hours later and still door could not lock or loo didn't flush. After discussion on front desk ( no manager available) we were given another room. This one was excellent."

"I had a Large Double Ensuite Room. Quiet Location. To Improve :- Do not use an Extention Lead for the Large TV - a hazard for guest to wheel the extension lead to a socket Drill the TV into the wall facing the double bed The chairs around the table looks like a meeting room - please remove and the office chair opposude the dressing table does not match. Decor is outdated. Perhaps antique decor as it would suit the hotel and buildings Cold table in bath is hard to turn Sink is blocked in bathroom needs to be unplugged Rusty metal taps and plugs needs to be polished Dryed flowers are outdated fresh flowers are better ie roses and champagne for Guests Fridge was dirty needs a kitchen cleaner and dusty underneath too low needs to be put at a safe height to avoid back injury. Curtains are winter and should be summer Garden has huge potential ie a strawberry garden with herbs. Its overgrown. Windows are broken locks are not attached. Note pad and paper essential. Not enough Tea bags too many herbal teas. Leather polish for sofa. Wallpaper damaged needs re painting to lighten room with pictures Art / Hampshire History as location is beautiful. Dutch German and French translation please. Walks nearby with a guide to walks with pack lunches available. Bus routes and shops. Excellent hospitality."
