When we arrived at the front of the hotel we asked where the parking was and was given a map which takes you 1 1/2 miles round a one way system to access the rear of the property, when we did this there was no parking available. We had to walk 20 minutes for the nearest available parking at a cost of £16 completely contradictory to what is on the hotels website as the footbridge linking the hotel to the centre is under repair and closed. When I asked the receptionist why they provided us with the map when they knew the car park was full the receptionist was incredibly patronising. I did complain to the manager who in fairness did try and resolve matters but as he said the damage was already done. Sadly service was not so good this time. Had water pouring through the bathroom ceiling at midnight…..night manager came up, said hotel was full, put towels on the floor and no more could be done! Water was very bad so asked the hotel to find us somewhere else to stay and refund us….suddenly another room was available and we moved at midnight. Not the hotels fault that water came through the ceiling but the service and attitude of the night duty manager wasn’t great and no apologies from the hotel. We stay in Reading quite often, visiting family, but won’t stay here again.
