"Overall a lovely property with nice service people. The front desk and the ease of information could certainly be improved. The game drive was slated for 10 people max, and we were brought to the truck already full and asked to pile in. 14 people in the truck, this was my least favorite activity as although we saw some animals you can see much more in other places.
I was charged by Expedia for an extra person. The activities needed to be paid separately ($25 per adult and half for children)....

"The property was very clean overall. The staff at the restaurant and bar were very helpful and attentive. Food was very tasty. Rooms are a little outdated and sleeping under a net is a must due to some mosquitoes. Overall it was a good, quick stay for me."

"The host were great. We enjoyed the experience of observing the black eagle and learned a lot from Chris, who has years of experience with this particular pair. Chris and Debbie went out of their way to make my birthday special. We really loved our time here! This place comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "

"The staff was so friendly and thoughtful. They went out of their way to make sure our anniversary was incredible. The owners even can and had dinner with us the night we arrived. Ngasha was an incredible hostess/bartender, chef Kevin was amazing in the presentation and quality and taste of food, Fortune our guide was incredible and very intelligent and resourceful. Victor was excellent too. "

Great hotel, lovely rooms and wonderful staff. Views over the Zambezi Nationsl Park were fantastic with lots of animals visiting the waterhole at the adjacent Lodge. Don't miss the vulture feeding which happens each day at 1pm

The Matobo Hills Lodge is a place of absolute serenity and beauty. The lodge is designed to completely blend with the environment in such a way that you do not feel that you are intruding in an area of natural beauty. The staff were helpful and friendly from the start and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We cannot recommend this lodge highly enough.

Amazing experience in an Hotel oozing history, charm, and character. Walk in the foot steps of the great and famous. The hotel treats you just the same.
The wild life is all around you on the hotel lawns. We loved the naughty monkeys, the wart hogs and babies, and the abundance mongoose.
The management turned around a potential mishap into a very favourable conclusion.
Wonderful stay. Could not recommend enough!!

Better than the photos. Beautiful lawned area with great variety of trees. Room very clean with air con, comfortable beds and huge shower room. Everyone so helpful. Liz the manager is very friendly and her chef and team excellent. Water, milk and tea provided on arrival. Fridge in room. We ate there every night. Good home cooked meals. Enjoyed pre dinner drinks at the bar.
Breakfast menu great and cooked to order. Good security. We would return if ever in Bulawayo again.

VFSL is beautiful. Don't miss the Vulture Culture experience, every day, free at 1pm if you'r interested in seeing vultures tearing apart leftovers. Various excursions are available and a free shuttle bus is a must for getting to the town. Generally full of aging American tourists when I was there, the breakfast buffet was very good, other meals overpriced (but tasty). Indeed, most things available at VFSL came with an added premium, as if everyone who has the money to stay there has extra cash...

Selborne Hotel is home away from home. Christine and team give the place a warm touch. The rooms are top notch and the Wi-Fi is excellent. However, the outside and furniture reception area look ‘tired’ and outdated. It hardly reflects the high standard of decor and modern upgrades characteristic of the rooms.

We had a lovely time staying 2 nights at Gwango Elephant Lodge. The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent. This was a very peaceful place and was amazing to have elephants just outside the dining area when eating dinner.

We stayed for two nights in an apartment. It was modern and the decor was extremely pleasant. Flatscreen in both the bedroom and the lounge. Certainly we felt we had our money's worth.
The bed had surround mosquito net (a must in this region).
The lounge opened on to the lawn and swimming pool with a view of the Zambesi river.
Outside furniture was also a part of the apartment, but we had to keep the doors and windows closed as there were velvet monkeys and banded mongoose around. A hippo...

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff and good service. Pool is large and surrounded by lovely trees. A nice place to sit. Good breakfast and dinner. Free shuttle bus down to the falls. Rooms are comfortable and in good condition but are a bit ugly from the outside
