We stayed here in order to experience the historic aspect of the building and its architecture. They have done a good job maintaining the building, the woodwork, and the rooms. We truly enjoyed feeling like we were staying in a fairly original hotel of the late 1800's. It was not as clean as newer hotels, but I would grant that it is much harder to clean than newer hotels. There were no glaring concerns. When you stay here you are experiencing history and that in my opinion is very valuable. Staff were not as friendly as they were in the other hotel we stayed at in Deadwood, but they were not rude by any means, just matter of fact, and more serious. I would definitely stay here again and get a different room just to experience another option. I'm sure each room is a little different. I did feel it was well decorated to keep in its historic period too! The staircase was beautiful. The elevator seemed a bit rickety, we avoided it! That was really the only thing that I did not care for.

Check in is always a hassle because it takes forever! This is not due to being busy. We’ve been told it due to an outdated computer system. It’s time to improve on that!

A good choice in an historic town. FYI imho Deadwood is an adult destination. Most of the places have casinos on a floor including the Bullock. Nothing rowdy that we saw when we were there but more adult focused where we were. There was more we could have done with a longer stay. We could walk everywhere from the Bullock. The staff was super helpful. AC was cold and everything was as promised.

This is an old, historic hotel located on the main street of Deadwood. Easy walking to all of the Deadwood attractions. Free parking is across the street behind the hotel, which was unexpected and a nice amenity. The couple that run the place are extremely friendly and informative. As a historic hotel, you need to embrace the charm! Rooms and hotel in general remind me of something out of Gunsmoke! Everthing is old, historic, and a bit quirky. If you are looking for the Hampton Inn or Double Tree, this place isn't for you. But we loved it! There is a restaurant and bar, and fee coffee in the mornings. They have a small casino in the lobby. Slot machines were set so tight that we only gambled a little bit, but that wasn't our motivation for staying there. Would not hesitate to stay at the Bullock again. It was fun!

When we checked in the lady took my credit card and later I checked my bank account. She had charged me twice. She “corrected it and said that when they audited it, they would have found it. Not impressed by that at all.
