I will start off with “You get what you pay for”, but in this case I feel I received far more than I paid for. 1. Guests get a reserved parking spot for the duration of the stay. 2. The staff treats you like family, they go out of their way to make sure things are right. 3. The location of the hotel is a minute walk from Main a street, Deadwood so once you park your car, everything downtown is walkable. 4. The hotel is very well priced, the building is a historic building, but the room we had was quite large, it had everything we needed for our 2 day stay. 5. The staff trust their customers, if no one is at the front desk, all the pop, chips, etc. are there and it is based on an honour system, take what you need and square up when the staff is there. This was my second visit to the Iron Horse, and I will absolutely try and book future stays there.

Our stay was great. We arrived late and the front desk had called me earlier that day to give me all the details of how to get in. Room was clean, was smaller but everything we needed. Was close to main and easy to walk. The diner attached was an easy option and delicious food. The rooms were quiet as well which was a plus!

Clean , comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced. The staff could not be more courteous and helpful. This is an old building probably from the 1880’s that has been renovated with modern conveniences while maintaining the old west bones. Definitely will stay there again.

Terrific!
A wonderful old hotel, ran by some terrific people. Cheri at the front desk was so friendly throughout the entire stay, always making sure that we were satisfied. A clean, comfortable, terrific experience.

We will stay here again!
The staff, location and overall experience of the Iron Horse hotel was great. The staff and owners are extremely attentive and friendly. They made every effort to accommodate us on our stay. The hotel is a little dated but the bedrooms were clean and the mattress was so comfortable that the 2 couples on our trip asked the owner for the information on where to purchase them! The location was right in the heart of Deadwood and within walking distance to every establishment in town. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Looking for awesome hospitality and a good natured stay, then book Iron Horse. You are part of the hotel, not just a guest. Your needs and conveniences are well taken care of, and having a meal at the Wooden Nickel next door is the icing on the cake. Hats off to Cheri at Iron Horse and Tami & Kayla at the Nickel for making this traveler feel welcome!!!! Iron Horse is the gem of Deadwood. Close to everyone and everything in historic Deadwood.

This is a great hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly. In process of upgrades. Our room had not been updated but it was still very clean and nice. Gave 4 stars only because the bed sank in the middle and probably needs replacing. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The owner and staff are exceptional. Very personable and attentive. Stan and Ollies Bar has lots of history and great place to hang out. Three Cousins Pizza is some of the best we had in a while. Very clean hotel with great history and stories. We would definitely stay here again when in Deadwood. Jeff and Chris

Cheri at the front desk was the friendliest person ever. She took the time to answer questions about Deadwood and surrounding areas. She was so sweet offering us coffee taking our pictures making sure we had what we needed in our room. Room and hotel was super clean. We had a great stay.

Great location in Deadwood.
It is exactly what it says, historic hotel, but full of charm. The only issue for me was that you can’t control thermostat in the room because it is centrally controlled.

Place was nice and staff very friendly. The casino is Very small, not many machines. No food was avalible and no coffee pot in the room. The made coffee before they left at night but by morning it was barely luke warm. They literally lock the place up early, casino and all. 1st night was 9pm, second night it was 7:30 ish.

The Inn was very near the historic area and we were able to park at the Inn and walk for shopping and dining. Lovely quaint place to stay.
