"Staff were hit and miss. Lucy checked me in and was great but Grace refused to let me borrow a charger even though she said there was a box full in lost property. Breakfast staff not brilliant either. Asked for a pot to put sauce in too be told to put straight on plate, why? Lager in bar was flat except the one that costs £7.95. Dont take cash. Room was only ok. Would not rush back."

"The property was adequate for an unexpected visit. Room was clean, bathroom functional, drinks facilities and fridge were welcome as were the towels. However, the room door was tricky to close securely and the pool/gym area was under repair which limited access. When staff were encountered they were friendly and helpful but there wasn't an abundance of available staff. Overall, an easy to use hotel - fair value for the price."

"Good experience all round, from check-in to helpful tips on where to go, etc. Professional staff as well as very friendly. Good sized room, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast with an amazing selection. "

"The bathroom was tiny- no room for 2 people. Most of the time there was no hot water from the bathroom sink- the shower was okay. Food at breakfast wasn`t hot."

"The main hotel is characterful and pleasant. I found my room in one of the newer blocks to be noisy, more so when a table tennis table was erected under my window. The spa was disappointing, particularly when compared to a MacDonald Spa I am a previous member of. The pool and steam room are shedding tiles in large patches, some lying loose in the bottom of the pool. The Spa had no hot water for showering which rather spoiled my spa day. All staff were pleasant and helpful."

"Great place to stay, very spacious. I would recommend talking about when the best time is to head to breakfast as it gets busy. One tip for the hotel would be to give breakfast slots when checking in."

"Great location and hotel, a relaxing place to stay. The premisses was kept clean and in great condition. The spa facilities was wonderful, it had a course to follow for a full experience. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The interior was not the best, not very modern but satisfactory. Also, need to access the room I stayed by stairs from the first floor so might not be ideal for those with walking difficulties. However, it was a great place to stay and the views and golf course are breath-taking!"

"Extremely good experience at Horwood House. Everything from the greeting at reception to housekeeping was faultless. Stayed in a deluxe king room which was as expected but above all, very clean and well maintained. Would stay again if in the area. They had the most attentive and polite staff I've ever encountered in a hotel. "
