We booked a 2 night stay here to celebrate my wife's birthday , we wanted a relaxing weekend and the white horse seemed to offer what we were looking for . Right from check-in i realised we had definitely picked the right place . We received a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our room . Very pleasant small hotel in a quiet rural setting just outside Bakewell with excellent views across the Derbyshire countryside. Room was very comfortable and appeared to have been recently decorated. Staff very friendly and the restaurant offered a good choice of meals at a reasonable price of good quality. Breakfast was also very good and really set us up for the day. For walkers there is good access to the footpath network from right outside the hotel and the river walk in the valley below...

Great hotel enjoyed our stay and food was excellent only small problem there was no lift.

Only stayed for one night on way home, wished was longer. Fabulous hotel in a lovely setting that would be a perfect base for local attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful, room great with gorgeous view and breakfast excellent. Arrived late but squeezed in a drink at bar...food menu looked good.

This is truly a wonderful hotel to stay I've stayed in hundreds of hotels This is in my top 3 to stay in If I'm ever working in Sheffield area again. I'll have no hesitation in booking this wonderful hotel The food is so well presented and taste delicious. Lovely characterful hotel in a great location. We were upgraded in to a four poster room. Although the bed dominated the room there was still room for a sofa, desk and chairs. In addition there was a very spacious ensuite with a modern finish and great fittings. The staff were very welcoming and keen to help. The villagers of Pilsley were very friendly. Just up the road is the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop which has a brilliant selection of foodstuffs for those wanting the odd snack, souvenirs...

The staff service was exceptional at this hotel, the friendly and attentiveness of the employees really made this a wonderful break away. The room was ideal in a pet friendly room it was not luxurious but adequate and suited our visit. The food was wonderful and we felt treated from arriving to departure. I would recommend this hotel it can not be faltering delivery.

The hotel staff were so hospitable without being intrusive. The hotel was beautifully decorated, bed was quite comfortable and both restaurants were excellent. It is high on my list of places to return to again and again.

The Accommodation was very clean and modern. The staff were lovely and helpful and the breakfast was amazing

Really lovely garden and well designed interiors. Didn’t like those hangers in the wardrobe that are a fiddle to take out and replace in their security rings.

all the bedrooms are in a separate wing which meant there was very little noise from the pub area.

Our room was excellent. Spacious, large ensuite. Breakfast was great, really nice. The car parking can't be reserved, it's a working pub. We did okay though on an August weekend. We really liked the whole village, explore it.

Stunning location, Lovely bar restaurant, Nice food with a good drinks choice, Nice comfortable rooms, Great breakfast, Staff are friendly and efficient. High quality Inn at a reasonable price for what you get. Definitely would recommend and would stay again when back in the area.
