"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. "We were impressed by the friendliness and excellent service provided by all staff. Our room (no 6) was comfortable. Just one note of warning: the entrance way to the bathroom is VERY low; it is a safety issue calling for attention. Dinners in the restaurant were well suited to hungry walkers: we enjoyed the food; it was well prepared and presented. Breakfasts were good; a bowl of fresh fruit and a better range of cereals would have been welcome. The hotel is in a very pleasant and peaceful rural setting."

"My husband, our pup and I had the pleasure of staying at the Halston for one night, and I wish we had booked for longer. The apartment/hotel rooms are large, far more generous than the photos, and very well equipped for both long and short stays. The staff provided a welcome package on arrival, complete with dog treats, crumpets, jam, butter, milk and coffee – which was so appreciated after a day of travel. The space is quiet, clean, comfortable and very conveniently located to the train station. With good restaurants on site and a nice outdoor area for a pint – it is just a lovely hotel."
