Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.

This is a hidden gem. Rooms were well appointed with a really comfortable bed, high quality linens and towels and the white stuff products in bathroom. Breakfast was superb. Staff really friendly and helpful. Location was idyllic.

We had a comfortable & wonderful stay. The owners & staff were very helpful & polite. The hotel was a peaceful setting with wonderful grounds.

We really enjoyed our stay at The George,everything was perfect..the room was very comfortable and looked great when we first opened the door.. the staff are friendly and helpful..breakfast was good too lots to choose from ..and the bar staff are very obliging especially Connor..They have a good team there..and every where is spotless,also the Hotel is in a good position…

Breakfast excellent extensive choice, room lovely spacious great view with a balcony tastefully decorated . Good parking available onside. Close to all amenities staff helpful. Bad points, the shown pool and jacuzzi were closed due to the local hosepipe ban apparently this was mot communicated in the hotel website or Expedia only when we got there. Shower pressure not great overall it was good.

Me and my partner stayed her after an event nervy at River Cottage. The lodge was in a beautiful location and perfect as only ten minutes away from where we were. It was very cosy, comfortable and clean. We only stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer! It's a perfect little hideaway but still not far from nearby villages and towns. Lovely!

We were made very welcome by John and hadall we needed for a very comfortable stay with our two dogs. There were lots of little touches that added to our good experience-including welcome bags for each dog and more than adequate continental breakfast. We would highly recommend a d stay again. Perfect for a couples weekend away! Excellent stay thank you all! So nice to sit on a terrace looking at the beach and sea, whilst eating a very good breakfast. Booked with our 12yo Labrador. Stairs were a tad steep but she was happy being carried up 😁 Staff are very helpful and the location is just stunning! We will be back

It's about 8 miles from Honiton, yet advertised as being in The High Street, Honiton - why not mention the real location?

We loved the place: it’s a charming, quaint old cottage that’s had a sympathetic B&B conversion and is exceptionally neat, tidy and spotlessly clean. James and Katherine are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and good fun. Everything in the breakfast room was beautifully presented and laid out with precision, and the hearty breakfast was, of course, exceptional! Everything is home-made or sourced locally. James makes his own bread, preserves and granola. Our room was “bijou” but...

Perfect from start to finish,free parking,food and service and staff amazing,will definitely book again.

A great weekend away, can't fault it. The owners and George the dog are so welcoming.

Pet friendly and immaculately clean, only draw back is lack of parking space, however, public car park is very close bye.

Second time here, another lovely room with plenty of space and well lit too. Parking was easy. Will definitely stay again.
