"Very friendly staff, Breakfast was excellent, room was very clean, Will definitely stay there again"

"Firstly, I would say all the staff were excellent, polite, friendly and professional. In our room the complimentary biscuits had a use by date of 31/03/26. They were nearly 3 weeks out of date. There is a water bottle in the room to promote sustainability and not keep throwing bottles in landfill….great. However ours had been washed, not dried and the lid screwed on. The smell of stale rancid water was overpowering. Reception sorted both issues but I would suggest the room hadn’t been used for several weeks and not been checked prior to our stay. Very poor!! We had dinner at the Cast Iron restaurant which was excellent. Our server Izzy who was ever smiling, efficient and attentive. Well done to her. The front of house lady was also very attentive and professional. The breakfast too was excellent with a fantastic choice and great quality. Internet throughout the hotel wasn’t great. Connecting to hotel WiFi was poor and and not an easy process and my own 5G was patchy. Thankfully we weren’t there on business. Overall…mediocre, other than the staff who were excellent."

"Excellent staff, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient-particularly the reception staff. We were very fortunate to be given an upgrade-very exciting! This meant a canal view room which was lovely, much quieter than the front of the building. The hotel appears to be undergoing a programme of refurbishment and the dining room is much improved. Unfortunately the same could not be said of the breakfast. It was disappointing that there was only sliced bread available. The slices of cheese were hard and curled and looked most unappetising. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings and the walk along the canal into Skipton is a pretty one, where we saw jumping lambs, ducks, geese, swans and an otter. We always enjoy our stays here."

"Breakfast excellent, shame they don;t serve food on a Sunday. Suggest they notify guests beforehand so they can make alternative arrangerments. We could not find anywhere closeby serving food after 7.30pm which was prior to our arrival"

"In our Family Room, the bedsettee mattress was about 4 inches/10cm lower at the shoulders than the lower part of the mattress. Had to use all the towels to try to level it out a little otherwise their head was far too low!!"

"Stayed for the weekend for the Manchester marathon, the hotel was fine for what we needed it for but felt the room could have been cleaner. The staff were lovely though, didn’t try the restaurant or spa facilities. Would more so say it’s a 3 star."
