One of the highlights of our trip was the night tour with Dani in the forest — such a fascinating and enriching experience! She guided us through the local fauna with incredible passion and deep knowledge, showing us frogs, insects, and nocturnal life in such a respectful and exciting way. She even took beautiful photos with her phone to share with all of us — such a thoughtful touch! We also highly recommend treating yourself to a massage with Alexandra — she’s incredibly skilled and intuitive. One of the best massages we’ve ever had! This place is a true gem — relaxing, inspiring, and full of heart."

"We had the room with the private pool this time, and let me tell you it was gorgeous!! The pool could use a little updating, but the property is under new ownership and they are renovating everything. When we got there we were told they were giving us a free tour at the hanging bridges… we’ve been to La Fortuna many times, but had never done this activity. This is a DO NOT MISS location! We saw so many birds, a coati, 5 different eyelash vipers, blue jean frogs, etc. I highly recommend staying here, this was our second time and both rooms were great! Ohh. And there are fireflies there in June!! "

"This property is absolutely beautiful and everything you see in the pictures. The views are incredible, the bird watching from the porch provides hours of enjoyment, and the accommodations are very comfortable. Our family enjoyed the pool and leaving all the sliding doors open to feel the cool breezes of El Castillo. Even though it is listed in the description, I did not realize the property didn't have air conditioning and was initially concerned, having just come from the coast where it was very warm. But El Castillo is much more temperate and the breezes keep everything very comfortable in the house. The need of a four wheel drive vehicle is absolutely necessary as the road leading up to the house is steep and very rocky. There are many wonderful restaurants close by. No service stations and only a small market, so plan accordingly. Close to the volcano, zip lining, and the La Fortuna waterfall. Would definitely recommend!"
