Check in was supposed to be at 3:00 pm and we planned around that. Checking in, was told our room wasn't ready (this was 3:50). Told to hang tight and it would be about 15-20 minutes later. 30 minutes later I went back to the desk and they had to call to see if it was ready. In the meantime, I saw others check in before that. It was explained to ne that it was a staff shortage. I would be more understanding if my last visit to the Drake had to be transferred to someone else because I didn't hit the cancellation window. They did not care about my very legitimate excuse then, so no offense, I don't want to hear their excuse now. Front desk clerk not apologetic nor even offered any inconvenience benefit (as other hotels have in the past). This is strike 2 on the Drake from my experience. Not sure whether there will be the opportunity for strike 3.
