Perfect Hotel for Enjoying Chicago!

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: Loved the staff and the location is fantastic.
Cons: The decor might be a little tired, some of the furniture in our room was scuffed up, but it was clean, and the bathroom was awesome.
Location: Perfect downtown location, so much to see and do, make sure to go to the concierge desk they will help you with everything! Bring your walking shoes.
We loved our 7 night stay at the Fairmont in August. Our room was large and comfortable with a terrific city view. The staff are amazing, especially the concierge desk! They helped us with lunch reservations, dinner reservations, tickets to the Art Institute (that allowed us to skip the line-up) and tickets to The Second City. Our trip wouldn't have been nearly as fun without the concierge staff! All of their restaurant recommendations were spot-on, we had a BLAST in Chicago. We'll be back, and we'll definitely be staying at the Fairmont.

Shocking Condition - Literally

Posted 15-Sep-2016
For a Fairmont and the price this hotel is getting somewhat worn and "tired". The biggest issue is the broken desk light that shocked me when I reached in to turn it off because the bulb socket was cracked and hanging loose with exposed connections. It had just happened that morning so I told the front desk staff at checkout about the dangerous condition of the light and that I had been shocked. They said they would address it but otherwise offered nothing by way of compensation. I had just spent well over $1000 on two rooms for two nights and I thought offering something as small as a free breakfast or an upgrade on my next stay would have been a more typical response considering the 120volt jolt !

ubicación increible

Posted 13-Sep-2016

Decent hotel next to Millenium park.

Posted 08-Sep-2016
Pros: It's location.
Cons: The rooms and services need to be upgraded. The food selection for in room dining and breakfast needs to be diversified and improved on taste.
It was close to downtown and millenium park. However, on the days that it was raining and we had to stay inside, there was no tv guide available or on-demand tv. The room was old and the airconditioning had to be put to the lowest level in order for it to cool off the room.

Perfect location by park, shopping, and the loop.

Posted 06-Sep-2016
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, very comfy beds, great location.
Location: Tours, shopping, park, and great food within a few blocks
I have stayed here for business before but decided to stay for a personal trip and it was perfect. We were able to walk to everything we needed. The concierge got us discounted tickets, made our reservations, and was so nice and helpful. All the bell desk and front desk people were so nice and friendly and made sure we were greeted every time they saw us. The Columbus Tap inside the hotel has great food!

Fairmont Review

Posted 05-Sep-2016
Pros: Comfort of the room, pleasant workers, location in city.
Cons: Coffee kiosk, not just water in lobby. Newspapers for the rooms. Somehow improve the gps of Uber, Lyfts, they weren't able to find the hotel!!!!
Location: Many restaurants, a friendly Concierge willing to help find the perfect place to go!
The hotel was very difficult for Lyft, and Uber cabs to find. Although a regular taxi for much more money was extremely easy to get. There was a porter that simply whistled, and a taxi appeared! The room was very comfortable, I somehow lost my key, as my son and I went to the lobby so he can catch his taxi. I didn't have any ID on my, as all was in the room. I asked the front desk for another. I was questioned, in a snide manner. I was told that a security guard would meet me at my room. Promptly, a security guard was walking towards where I was standing, asking for ID. I explained again, I didn't have any on me as I was just walking my son to the lobby. The young, snarky guard explained the dangers of not having ID. He opened the door and I quickly showed my ID, and was given two keys. I didn't appreciate being spoken to as it I was a criminal. However, I do understand the protocol. There were many, many kids, huge families there, much to my surprise as it is not a kid friendly hotel. Overall, very expensive, very comfortable, mostly nice employees there.
