Pee spots on bathroom floor.

Cons: Well....I think we've covered the pee situation.
Location: Quick walk to Michigan Ave. Lots of restaurants nearby
Needed a motel near the loop for a quick trip into the city for some personal business. Decided on the Fairmont because of location. Didn't realize getting there would be so difficult. Google maps had no idea how to navigate the elevated streets and traffic flow to get to the front door. Hotel was nice. Rate was crazy high. But we were upgraded to a suite, which had a nice view. Floor around toilet hadn't been mopped in a couple days, clearly. Numerous "splash and drip" spots On the floor in front of toilet. I'm sure house keeping would have come up and mopped if we'd called the desk, but who wants a crew mopping in your room at 10pm? For $500 a night, I expect a clean bath room floor. You should too. I can't give this property a totally bad rating because I'm sure pee stains were the exception not the rule. Again, I'm sure they would have rectified if I complained, which we didn't. But we wanted to get to sleep, not wait up for the emergency mop crew to show up. So a wet wash cloth and a couple swipes later, we were good. Didn't tip the maid, though...

Overall we were disappointed. The room showed lots of wear and tear with the bed surround torn and cracked. There was a questionable stain on the ceiling over the bed and multiple stains on the carpet. We paid a lot of money to stay at the Fairmount and can honestly say it was only ok. I was most upset because I became very ill with gastrointestinal symptoms after having breakfast the first morning. It was a terrible start to our vacation and nearly ruined our stay. Although the staff did follow up to ask about my symptoms and the timeline, I feel more could have been done. I was nauseous most of the trip and did not enjoy myself the way I would have had I been 100%. There was not even a mention of my troubles on check out. We did have room service with some chicken soup the day my symptoms were the worst. This wasn't even provided complementarily. The check in experience was not how it was described in the description of the Fairmont Gold experience. We were not "whisked away"to be privately checked in. At checkout all the staff were rushed and made us feel we were an inconvenience, we weren't even asked how our stay was. Although The staff in the Gold Lounge and the housekeeping staff we very good, overall we were not well taken care of by the Fairmont and its staff. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it.

Pricey but so is the entire area

Location: Close to al the parks and museums And still a short walk to the shopping

Location: Excellent location. Close to the river, shopping and great restaurants. And what a wonderful city.
Good staff and service, but the hotel is a little tired and needs better cleaning especially in the public areas. There was a leaf tracked in on our floor (17) hallway carpet for two days and still there when we checked out. No room service after 11pm. A first experience for us in a Fairmont.

Pros: Size of the room and bathroom. Great location.
Cons: The room was a little shabby and the service just average.
Location: Blocks from Millenium Park, Michigan Avenue and the Navy Pier.
The room was very spacious with a great view and a large bathroom with a shower and tub. The rug was a bit worn in spots and the cushion on the bench was extremely worn out. Not what I would have expected at a Fairmont, but the manager addressed the issue appropriately. Still, somewhat disappointing. Come to think of it, they never even gave me the wifi password, to which I was entitled as a Fairmont rewards memeber. Up until now, all of the Fairmonts I have stayed at have been excellent, with service that stands out. This one is definitely slipping.
