Up on entering the car park, the surroundings were nice and rustic.
Entered the reception area and no one there to greet us. I Had to use the phone to get the receptionists attention. Basically given the key and pointed in the direction of where our room was, wasn’t a “feel” of welcomeness considering I had just driven 4hours to stop here.
Entered the room and on first glance, decoration was nice and really rustic/modern feel. However up on closer inspection, soon realised that the room was very dusty and unclean. In the windows and all over the walls there were cobwebs. Soon realised that it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a while as the telephone at the bedside was caked in dust. I don’t expect rooms to be gleaming, but I do expect rooms to be used and still clean and tidy ready for the next guests. The bathroom was nice and modern, however soon noticed black mould around the sealant of the glass and that water was spilling all over the floor, plus a plug hole cover missing!
The bed was comfy = positive.
Up on checkout, we wasn’t asked how it was, how we slept, etc. nothing. Just, you’re all checked out and that was that. I feel there’s a lacking of personal touch when it comes to speaking with guests.
Overall I would stop here again, due to location, price and how rustic/modern it is. However the room would have to be cleaner next time round.
