On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and offered a complimentary drink each, which was a lovely touch. Our room was ready ahead of the standard check-in time, which made things much easier. The room itself was clean and well-presented, as well as the bathroom and shower area. The beds were also very comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. We made use of the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool and sauna, both of which were enjoyable. Unfortunately, the steam room was out of order during our stay, and the showers in the changing rooms weren’t working either. This meant having to go back into the pool area to use the showers, which was a bit inconvenient. In the evening, we spent some time in the bar area, which had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent right in the centre of Bath and just a few minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths, making it ideal for exploring the city. Parking is a bit less convenient. You can pull up outside the hotel to unload, but it’s only a short-stay bay. The recommended option is Charlotte Street Car Park, which is about an 8-minute walk away. It’s not too far, but it is an open car park. We paid ÂŁ68 for our stay, as it had to be booked across three days, which felt quite expensive on top of an already pricey weekend. Everything is walkable. We selected a rate offered on Expedia that included valet parking(convenience) and buffet breakfast (excellent). We booked “premium king” which is NOT a Canadian or American King size bed. It is more like a queen. I learned that you really need to book a TWIN bed room. Then ask them to “zip” the 2 twin beds together. Also be careful when you check out, we had prepaid on Expedia (3 months prior when I booked) but the booking didn’t show this and they wanted to charge me.I had my receipt indicating PAID and this took a number of calls and digging and explaining from their side. BE CAREFUL. The reception staff were friendly sorting this out. I just found it fishy.
