Part of the Jefferson National Memorial. The observation deck is 630 feet up and is the tallest manmade monument in the United States. It opened in 1967 and you could either walk to the top or take a very interesting elevator to the top, small capsules that fit five people and zig zag their way to the top in four minutes. As I drove into St. Luis it can be seen above the horizon and because it is stainless steel shines bright as you come in. To anyone who can, I would say go, Seeing it in person it is immense! Eloisa (I hope that is correct-our bartender ) made happy hour on Friday night even happier! She was friendly and knowledgeable, suggesting drinks we hadn’t had before just by asking what we usually order. While the floor plan is an open Hallway the rooms kept out sound very well! Only sounds to bother sleep were sirens at night. But that would be at any city hotel so I can’t hold the hotel accountable for that. Fantastic location! Breakfast and Happy hour were too notch! Only negatives (not deal breakers)- The room was great but the bathroom door and fan were aged. The fan was loud. So much I closed the door when sleeping. I had to be sure to push the door closed for it to latch so I could lock the door. But these are common hotel things.
