This is a beautiful, well maintained and expertly furnished property. There are so many places, including the pool area, to sit, relax and listen to and watch the wildlife. It is set in wonderful grounds and extensive countryside with amazing views. We had breakfast daily which was plentiful and tasty and the service from staff was excellent throughout our stay. It is very well located to downtown Athens. There are buses that provide transport around the different colleges. The staff were all pleasant and efficient. There is a small gym which was very convenient. Breakfast was reasonably varied and lunch at the Savannah restaurant was good. Groome airport shuttle stops at the hotel and there is ample paid parking available.

The property is located in a really great neighbourhood of Atlanta, ideal for our visit. Kathryn is amazing and was a joy to meet every morning for breakfast, with a warn southern welcome. Would highly recommend.

The staff were a credit to this hotel, good breakfast selection, good location. Water pressure could have been better but rest was great.

The Verandah is a very special hotel in a perfect little town. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and wished that we could have stayed longer. It reminded us a little of the hotel in Groundhog day but rather smarter and more historic - staying here forever would certainly be more dream than nightmare. Clan room great staff

A lovely hotel very close to Lennox Square. Helpful staff ready to recommend great restaurants, with a courtesy car to take you to them. Quietest room we have stayed at in a big city. Great swimming pool.

Very modern, great gym facilities, very good mattresses, well insulated quiet rooms with excellent aircon - always good air quality in the room even with aircon off most of the time. Negatives: Breakfast area a bit small and easily overcrowded in the morning, breakfast could be better in terms of quantity/ value for money. Overall an excellent place for anyone visiting the Battery area.

I thought the hotel was perfect for my stay. The rooms are large and beautifully designed. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. All staff were professional and friendly and went out of their way to provide an excellent experience.
