The best area to stay in Caux is within the village centre, particularly around the Place de la République.

This central area is the heart of Caux, characterised by its historic stone buildings and narrow, winding streets. The Place de la République is a focal point, often hosting local markets and events, and you'll find the Mairie (town hall) and the Église Saint-Gervais et Saint-Protais nearby. It's a very walkable area, with local shops, bakeries, and restaurants readily accessible.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic French village experience will find the village centre ideal. You can enjoy leisurely strolls, discover local wines at nearby cellars, and dine at traditional restaurants without needing to travel far. The pace of life here is slower, superb for unwinding.

For those seeking a more rural and quiet retreat, the immediate outskirts of the village offer villas and gîtes with more space and often private pools, while still being a short walk or drive from the village amenities.

The best time to visit Caux is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm but not excessively hot temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the region's vineyards, historic villages, and the natural beauty of the Occitanie countryside. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will particularly appreciate the mild weather and beautiful colours of the vineyards during these shoulder seasons. It's superb for leisurely walks, enjoying outdoor dining, and visiting local markets without the summer rush.
