About this property
Arcadia - Carmel House - Classic Carmel
This comfortable, single-story home on a corner lot in Carmel is the perfect spot from which to explore the many splendours of the Monterey Peninsula. Between the living room (with a fireplace for chilly nights) and the cosy den—with a leather sofa and a large TV—you’ll have plenty of room to spread out. There are two dining areas, one off the living room and a breakfast table beside the large kitchen, which features fresh white cabinetry, a stainless side-by-side refrigerator, a five-burner gas range, and built-in oven/microwave. There’s one bedroom (with bunk beds), another bedroom (with two twins), a powder room, and a laundry room off the kitchen. On the opposite side of the home, you’ll find a Queen bedroom facing a hallway bath with a tub/shower. Further down the hall is the master suite: Queen-sized poster bed, fireplace, and a large TV in an antique armoire. The en suite bath has an oval soaking tub, a walk-in shower and dual sinks. Outdoors, you can while away the hours in the porch swing or dine al fresco in the large backyard under the oaks. And when you're ready to explore, Carmel's storybook city centre is just a short walk away. Two-car garage with driveway and street parking.

Perfect spot
Spotless house perfect in every respect tough to walk around the neighborhood with no sidewalks, but that’s to be expected in Carmel, very clean. We had a heat spell while we were there so we were a little warm, but besides that everything was perfect.

Beautiful house with all amenities and great location in Carmel -Monterey area
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and comfortable home. It has all the amenities and we were able to enjoy a few relaxing nights in while on a long travel holiday. The house was well located and it made it easy for us to visit Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur.
The home was clean, well stocked with essentials, and close to all of our activities (Monterey Bay Aquarium, Whale watching, and Point Lobos State Park). We will definitely be returning!
The property was about a mile from town and a bit further to the beach. Since parking downtown is a big problem, it was good we could walk to town. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood.
There were 3 of us ladies celebrating a special birthday for one of us. We enjoyed our stay at Arcadia. The house has 3 bedrooms so we each got our own room. The living area was very large and the kitchen had all the needed amentities. I
Quaint cottage whose exterior does not give away the spacious interiors. While the furniture and bathrooms have a lovely old world charm, all the appliances are updated and like new. We did not lack anything.
Quiet neighborhood, short drive to the Carmel downtown, the 17 mile drive, Lobos Park.
Just loved the laid back feel of Carmel and Cannery Row.
Would come back if we can!

Great place
Our stay at Arcadia was great. The house is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, water in the shower hot, and all the appliances were newer and in great working condition making it a breeze to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood and close to downtown Carmel, though I wouldn’t consider it to be ‘walking distance’ as there are no sidewalks or street lights in the neighborhood so even though it is just over a mile away, I don’t think it would be a practical walk. That definitely wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again, though, as the place checked all the boxes with respect to comfort and quality.

Arcadia House Carmel CA
I love visiting Carmel because of its timeless charm, elegance and coastal vibes. When planning a trip to Carmel that would include 3 generations of my family, I wanted to find a house that embodied those Carmel vibes and would be a great family hub location to hang out, cook, and relax for people ages 8 to 70. This house exceeded my expectations. It was both beautiful and cozy, very well maintained inside and out. We loved the beautifully landscaped yard featuring mature oak trees and a private patio perfect for bbqing and relaxing. Also, it was in a quiet neighborhood filled with "locals" but only a 5 minute drive to downtown and the beach - easy access but no tourist noise and traffic. The host was super helpful and responsive when we had questions about the property and activities in the surrounding area. All in all, we thought this house was a GREAT find, and would happily stay here again.

Charming and Quiet
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Arcadia. The house was super clean upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and utensils, and all the appliances were nice. The beds were comfortable. We loved the open floor plan and high ceilings. The two-car garage was an added bonus. It's so great to not have to park on the street. The neighborhood is really quaint and quiet. Downtown Carmel is a short drive away. Distance-wise it would be possible to walk into town, but like in pretty much all residential Carmel neighborhoods, there are no sidewalks.
If I could make one suggestion - add WiFi extenders to the bedrooms. The WiFi is ok in the family room, but deteriorates quickly when get further away from the modem. It’s really weak in the master bedroom. I had no cellphone reception at the house at all (T-Mobile must have no tower nearby), and so I had to make calls via WiFi. That was only possible if I was near the modem in the family room.
This is Carmel in the woods, beautiful neighborhood, woodsy, quiet.
Property had a great yard front and back.
Inside the kitchen and bedrooms were very nice.
Just a small matter was the furniture in the living room and sitting room.
a little dated. Couch had a cover over it. When you sat down you were around 12" off the floor. We are senior citizens and had a hard time getting up. My wife could not sit on it.
There is this big table in the middle of the room. I guess it is a coffee table. I ran into it and hit both my ankles and fell down. Nothing serious. Grandkids also got hit with the corners.
An upgrade in this would make this a gem of a house.
Still, well worth the time and effort to stay there.
The neighborhood was quiet and very walkable. The residence was very nice and clean, and close to downtown, shopping, etc. Altogether, a very pleasant stay
Very clean and well stocked (towels, incidentals, etc.). Great layout for guests. No knick knacks which was great because we had a two year old. Exterior of the house was nice but not child or elderly friendly, very uneven ground. The exterior needs a good power wash and I would have given it a 5 had it been done. Short and easy drive to Carmel by the Sea. QUIET, QUIET area.
Loved every second of my trip! Was perfect location to everything we needed. Would have loved some firewood for the chimney, not sure the rules and regulations out there, but that was the only thing I could think of for it to be better. Thank you for the wonderful house and time to rent out for the weekend!
