Wrong bed, dirty sheets, nothing about is is Royal
I requested a double bed for my wife and me, and booked the night before an important interview. I arrived late, the room had twin beds next to each other rather than a proper double bed. At that time at night, I wasn't in the mood to ask for a different room. The beds were squeezed in a tight corner of the room, and you could only get onto the bed by climbing from the bottom, there was no space on the sides of the bed at all! It seems like a single room design I which they squeezed a second bed!
In the morning, we noticed that the bottom end of the bed sheets had mould spots on it. The cups for coffee weren't clean, with dirty old coffee mark inside. The door for the toilet didn't open well, it will get stuck against the tiles half way through and you have to squeeze yourself in.
We paid for breakfast, which should be served from 7am. At 07.30 we went down, were seated, but hot breakfast buffet was only open 15 minutes later! Not good for somebody who doesn't want to be late for the interview, and at £10 each, certainly not worth it.
I paid £78 for the room and £20 for breakfast. I could have stayed at St David's for £96 but I wanted to be closer to the centre. BIG MISTAKE, NEVER AGAIN. I can't understand how this hotel is given 4 stars rating! More like low end 3 stars.
