Dirty room and stained Towels

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Clean Towels, bed side lamp tables can be kept clean and not dusty
Location: went there for business and my stay was disappointing
The worst experience that i have had in a hotel in the UK. Couldn't believe i was on Cardiff high street few minutes walk to Cardiff Millennium stadium. This hotel management needs to sit and get things right

very disappointing stay

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: its tired and needs a good coat of paint
Location: close to bars and shops
Booked this hotel as it looked so nice in the pictures,BIG MISTAKE As soon as we arrived it cost money to park in the car park, then walk to hotel with cases. UP on arrival didnt look to bad ,but the room was terrible, very small and dated and not cleaned very well. couldnt wait to leave ,thankfully it was only one night. ,

Nice hotel in centre of city.

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Overall it was fine, and the Dr Who experience which was what we wanted was easy to get to, and we got good directions from the staff.
Cons: The parking arrangements should be explained up front and may guests should be directed to the rear entrance where there are no steps up to the lift.
Location: The Dr Who experience is a short bus ride away and the bus stop is only just across the road. The castle, millennium stadium were in walking distance.
The worst thing about this hotel is there is no parking. The nearest car park is a multi story a little distance away. Secondly, and the hotel can't help this are the stairs at the front door up to the lift to get to reception. This a real drag if you have heavy luggage. We also found the 'Wi-Fi' difficult. Those comments apart it was good.

Centrico, pero complicado con coche

Posted 12-Aug-2015
Pros: Centrico

Two nights at the Royal

Posted 04-Aug-2015
Pros: We had a good rate and the location is good.
Location: Location is good. Near the bus and train station with plenty of bars and shops nearby.
It is a little bit of a maze inside and our room was at the far end with a terrible view from our window. Our room was a bit on the small side but it had everything except a decent chair to sit on. There would have been no room for a chair, just enough room for one person to walk around the bed. That said, we have stayed at the Royal before and we probably will again because, at times, they offer very reasonable rates and its location is excellent for the bus/train and shops.

Good location, disappointing experience

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Noise in top floor room (my friend on a lower floor didn't experience any problems), staff attitude
Location: Starbucks and other cafes just across the pedestrian street so very convenient to get food
Very good location, near to the railway station and shops. I checked in with a friend, and when we found that our rooms were far apart we asked to be closer together and was told this was not possible because the hotel was fully booked. I went to my room (which was on the top floor) and found that every few minutes there was a boiler-like sound, which lasts about half a minute, and stops but will start again a few minutes later. This made it absolutely impossible to sleep. Since the receptionist had said earlier that the hotel was fully booked I did not bother to ask for another change. When we checked out the next day another receptionist on duty asked if the rooms were alright, my friend was happy with her room but when I complained about the noise in mine he simply said "oh you should have told us, we could have moved you right away!" I take this to mean that there were rooms available for a swap, and that the night receptionist simply could not be bothered to process this. For a location near to the train station there are many hotels, I would not recommend this one.
