Good location, helpful staff, great breakfast

Posted 20-Oct-2016
This hotel is in a nice, centralized location in Cardiff. It's a short walk to the waterfront quay, and very close to the best shops and restaurants of Cardiff. The only concern is that areas of the hotel are under construction.

One night stay

Posted 17-Oct-2016
Location: It was really well situated. I went to the Motorpoint to a concert. It took a few minutes to walk there.
Anna on reception went above and beyond her duties. She was very helpful nothing was too much trouble for her. The hotel is in an ideal location. There is nothing negative to write.

Front desk staff could be more helpful

Posted 11-Oct-2016
Location: Location centrally for sites. About a 8 min walk to the castle
If there was a box for "not sure" on whether or not I would recommend this hotel to a friend, I would have marked that. On our stay the hotel was undergoing improvements so the state of the hotel was understandable. I thought that to compensate, the front desk staff could have been a little bit more helpful or accommodating. Also, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel so taxis or Uber were not allowed to stop in front and hopefully that was because they were remodeling. Have to walk about 150 feet to get to the corner so you can meet your Uber driver. Initially, when we asked front desk where we can get a taxi, they instructed us to go to the Marriot if we wanted to get a taxi. Great Marriot advertising from the unfriendly Radisson front desk staff. The redeeming factor was the restaurant staff. There were all nice. Ivan was particularly accommodating and ready with a friendly smile.

Good location

Too dark. Shabby and old/well worn. Toilet dirty. Too tired to ask for a move as only one night. When checking out told staff we were unhappy but no gestures made to recompence.

Ideally situated

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Pros: It was close to train station, airport bus service, Hop On Hop Off, and shopping ad restaurants on the doorstep.
Cons: Outside of building being renovated, so views were obscured.
Location: Huge pedestrian mall just steps away; restaurants for any taste throughout the mall, Cardiff Castle and National Museum an easy walk.
We stayed here for a week, booking a business class room which while more expensive, provided enough perks to make up for the difference. Large room, great view over the city, with excellent service from front desk to breakfast staff. Great selection - and delicious food - for breakfast, with attentive staff. Only real hiccup during our stay was the TV which we did not use that much in any case; reception was bad at times, so bad could not watch, and while staff tried to repair, reception kept breaking up.

Nice hotel and staff

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. It was great being so near to Cardiff shops.
Cons: Lighting in room could be better, and a mirror on the table would have been great
Location: John Lewis was just across the road, and shopping was good to be so near
Enjoyed my stay but I found my room was too dark, even though the staff brought me a table lamp.

Lovely hotel great location.

Lovely hotel, ideal location. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great place from which to explore the city. I have zero complaints but if I had to suggest one thing it would be that the bedrooms could be updated slightly. The bathrooms are excellent and the bedrooms are good quality but they are a little tired with a lot of carpet in the room. Although there is a sign outside saying they are in the process of an upgrade. Other than this minor concern an excellent hotel, friendly staff and I'd certainly have no problem staying here again.
