Pleasant small hotel.

This is a delightful small hotel where we were very well looked after. it has a very nice little pool for getting away from everything. Restaurants are a short walk away in Kalk Bay. We stayed for a couple of days. Had a lovely large room.

Allen and the other staff were great! It is a 1880 Mansion with 8 guest rooms and impeccably restored/maintained filled with antiques, just very relaxing. I would highly recommend for its charm, location and staff. Satori Restaurant 5-10min walk down street is Amazing food and service (ask for Shantell). Highly recommend!

Recommended guesthouse in Kalk Bay

We had a very nice and comfortable week at St James. Well located in Kalk Bay with walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room has a fantastic view over the bay and bathing were to be found in the vicinty. Friendly staff made all they could to make the stay for us.

Just loved my stay... Staff are just truly great and went out of their way to be helpful. Lovely view and quiet space to just relax. Accommodation was spot on with class and comfort and the history of the house was so very interesting. Will definitely come back again!!

A beautiful place to stay. The staff is excellent. Clive going out of his way to help when I had trouble walking, dropping us at a restaurant and picking us up later, all out of the kindness of his heart. Kalk Bay is a safe place and lovely. Breakfast at StJames Manor was excellent and more than enough food. Eating out was excellent. Beds are comfortable.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at James Guesthouse and can’t wait to come back! The sea view was stunning, and I felt completely safe and at ease throughout my visit. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. The rooms are fantastic, especially the Gentry room with its charming bay window, which adds a unique touch. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of fresh options that made for the perfect start to each day. The whole house has a cozy, welcoming ambiance, decorated with so much love and attention to detail. I also appreciated the multiple seating areas throughout the guesthouse—perfect for unwinding or reading in a quiet corner. The open bar option was a nice added convenience. The location could hardly be better; whether on foot or by car, everything you need is easily accessible. Highly recommend James Guesthouse for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-appointed stay with a touch of elegance and excellent service.

Lovely accommodation with very friendly & helpful staff. It was very quiet - on the first night I think we were the only guests - which felt a bit strange, but I do appreciate we were there at the end of the season. Kalk Bay is a very nice resort with some very nice coffee shops and restaurants, all within walking distance of the manor. Highly recommended!

A lovely place on the False Bay south of Cape Town. This house is a masterpiece. The surrounding area is lovely and secure. Only little observation is related to the fact that in some lamps cold white bulbs have been used. This choice hurts the romanticism of that place.
