Truly an exceptional place. The house and our room (Naples) was like a dream. Even in winter where the outdoor facilities (pool etc) are not usable, there's nothing negative to say. It was worth the expense.

Absolutely breathtaking property, tucked away in the bustling city of Avignon. From the moment we arrived, Jean-Luc and Valérie were incredibly welcoming and couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable. We had the best night's sleep we've had in ages – the bed was so comfortable, and the whole house is full of charm and character. We stayed at the Villa Mazarin for a belated anniversary treat and were blown away by the service, the room and the location. I'd also asked for champagne and flowers to celebrate and these were top notch. The team at Villa Mazarin were without exception very helpful and also very tolerant of my terrible French when trying to get directions/a restaurant recommendation/chat about the weather! The online reviews swayed us to stay in this beautiful hotel. Initially we were a little reluctant because it is over the river from the main town of Avignon. We were only staying for one night before continuing our journey to Antibes and we didn't want too much hassle the following morning to get to the train station. Ideal location to discover Arles, La Camargue, Saint Remy, Des Alpilles as well as many other famous and beautiful locations. Only 45 mins from Marseille airport. Hotel based on an industrial estate so don't expect stunning views.

What a wonderful hotel - really cool room with an amazing beach view. Food was very good and the staff were very attentive. Will definitely return.

Everything about Maison Douce is excellent! Owner Nathalie treats you as a personal house guest, doing her best to see you have a great time in Arles. We loved our stay at Le Calendal. Since we were traveling with our son we chose a triple room. To our surprise the room was spacious but most importantly facing the amphitheater! There was also a terrace with small table to sit outside but no matter where you stood in the room you saw it just right!
