PIEDIMONTE ETNEO
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (5 reviews)
"The location was perfect for what we wanted to do - i.e. see Mt. Etna and visit Taormina. The grounds are landscaped beautifully as the pictures show and the cabin is as small as the pictures suggest. As long as you can use the front deck, as we did, you don't feel too cramped. The 'buffet' breakfast must be something lost in translation. There was a jar of cookies and a basket of packaged pastries but that was it. "Loved the views, authentic and comfortable cottage, lovely experience of Sicilian village life. May be difficult to access for those with mobility issues. Wifi would not connect. Single lane access and street parking not suitable for a large vehicle. Top Calatabiano Hotel Reviews

Hellenia Yachting Hotel

Hellenia Yachting Hotel

8/10 Good
"⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Value, Convenient Location, but Room for Improvement The Hellenia Yachting Hotel offers good value, especially if you’re driving and looking for a convenient base to explore Taormina and the surrounding area. There’s a convenience store and a great gelato shop nearby, although you’ll need to drive to reach the main beach area. The hotel has an impressive marble interior, though the decor is somewhat dated. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed, but cleanliness could have been better, and there was a faint odor. As mentioned in other reviews, the buzzer system allowing people in and out can be noisy. I slept fine with earplugs, but light sleepers may find it bothersome. Since I visited after beach season, the beach chairs had been removed, but I still enjoyed some sunshine on a lounge chair on the outdoor deck overlooking the ocean. Parking was convenient, although it was essentially a dirt lot, and I had to contact someone each time I entered or exited. Breakfast was good, not great, but convenient with a three-hour window each morning. The staff were helpful, though I’ve experienced friendlier service elsewhere in Sicily. Overall, a comfortable stay in a good location at a reasonable price. Improvements in cleanliness, noise, and facilities would help, but considering the value, I’m giving it a generous four stars."
