Savoca is a village of art - included in the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy [4] - which preserves in its territory vestiges of medieval, renaissance and baroque origins. The town is known for the seventeen mummies kept in the crypt of the Capuchin convent [5], the subject of studies by an international research team ("Sicilian mummies project") [6], as well as for being chosen as a set of some great success, like the award-winning The Godfather of Francis Ford Coppola (1972).
Savoca is part of the tourist district of Valle d'Agrò and is also a member of the union of the municipalities of the Ionian Valleys of the Peloritani. Events Festivals, musical and theatrical events are the cult of the Savocese summer village.

Stunning views, enjoyable stay in Sicilian countryside

Loved the views, authentic and comfortable cottage, lovely experience of Sicilian village life. May be difficult to access for those with mobility issues. Wifi would not connect. Single lane access and street parking not suitable for a large vehicle. Also make sure to access groceries before arrival as there was no grocery store in Savoca and breakfast was not supplied as stated.

Beleidigung und Bedrohung

Achtung! Haben vom 06.07.24 bis 21.07.24 das Haus gebucht. Bei der Ankunft war der Besitzer schon etwas komisch. Wir sind 30 min. früher gekommen als ausgemacht. Er hat dann noch auf Italienisch geschimpft. Nach einer Woche meldet er sich bei uns erneut. Meinte das er ein Problem hat. Das Haus ist überbucht und er hätte vom 19.07 – 21.07.24 ein B&B für uns. Als wir damit nicht einverstanden waren hat er uns gedroht. Das er der BOSS des Hauses ist und er jede Minute entscheiden kann was passiert. Danach hat er noch per Telefon gedroht, das er jederzeit ins Haus reinkommt und unser ganzes Geld sowie Visa abnehmen kann und wir dann auf der Straße stehen. Meine Frau hat sehr Angst bekommen. Für uns war dann der Urlaub vorbei. Wir sind am 19.07.24 raus aus dem Haus. Eine Rückzahlung haben wir nicht bekommen. Das Haus war nur oberflächlich Sauber, die Bilder von ihm entsprechen auch nicht ganz der Wirklichkeit. Strom und Wasser fällt des Öfteren aus. 2 Betten gibt es auch nicht. In der Galerie ist alles vollgestellt. Wir raten von dem Haus ab!!! Villa Sarino Casa Vacanze

Amazing Views!

Alessio met us in Savoca and took us on a short journey to Romissa where Villa Sarino is situated. The views are tremendous: one looking down towards the sea and the other across to Savoca with its church and museum on the hill side. Villa Sarino is a family home which was renovated by Alessio and his father. The kitchen, dining and sitting area is open plan with a bathroom and bedroom to one side. The area is larger in reality than the photos show and what makes this a comfortable, relaxing area is the arty décor throughout. Outside is an ample patio area where one can sit and relax enjoying the view surrounded by interesting potted plants. We would highly recommend Villa Sarino for a short stay or longer. The village has seen better days with most of the properties now derelict but this adds to the ambience of the place and those who do reside there are friendly and welcoming including the goats and donkeys! This is the place to go to unwind and to soak in the atmosphere of the true Sicily!
