Find hotels in Cades from £43

The best area to stay in Cades is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and main street, as this is where you'll find the most convenient options.

Cades is a small, traditional Cantabrian village, so staying centrally means you're always within easy reach of everything. The village is compact, with a main road running through it and a charming central square often featuring a church or a small park. This area provides a genuine experience of rural Spanish life, with local shops and eateries.

For couples looking for a peaceful retreat, staying in Cades offers a wonderfully quiet and relaxed experience. You can enjoy strolls through the village, sample local cuisine, and use it as a base to explore the stunning natural surroundings, such as the Nansa River valley or the nearby Picos de Europa National Park.

Families will also find Cades a good choice, especially if they appreciate a tranquil environment. The village's modest size means children can explore a little more freely, and there are often open spaces or small playgrounds.

For a truly enjoyable visit to Cades, the best time to go is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October).

These months offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. You'll find the countryside lush and green in spring, great for hiking and outdoor activities, while autumn brings beautiful colours to the landscape.

Travellers who prefer fewer crowds and a more tranquil experience will particularly appreciate these shoulder seasons. You'll often find accommodation more readily available and a more relaxed pace at local attractions and restaurants. It's a great time for couples looking for a peaceful escape.

While July and August are also popular, they can be significantly busier and hotter, which might not be ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat.
