"This hotel is spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well appointed. For those arriving by train the hotel is no more than half a mile from the station, and getting there is not convoluted. The location is also very convenient in terms of being right in the city centre, not far from the cathedral. I enjoyed my stay here, and recommend this hotel without hesitation. Would stay here again, definitely."

"We stayed 2 nights with our dog during a tour of the Rutland area and further afield. We were really impressed by the hotel - great location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely walks locally, well maintained facilities, lots of spaces for chilling out, lovely food and welcoming of our dog in all locations. We had a lovely stay and this hotel is high on our list for a return, perhaps without our dog so we can use the spa facilities! The only slight negatives were that the room looked a little tired (we understand that there's a major refurb on the way) but it was perfectly fine and perhaps now is the time to get a good price before the refurb! And, a small gripe, the lovely breakfast was spoiled by having to make our own toast using two toasters that couldn't brown both sides of the bread at the same time (I spend many minutes standing around with others trying to get a decent slice to go with my eggs) - a minor but irritating annoyance. But overall a fantastic stay, thank you."

"Overall a good stay. I stayed in the cosy double room and all I would say is the bed was really hard. Also the room was right by the door so it was noisy as times. Breakfast was good. We tried booking in for dinner on the first evening however it was full so we ordered a delivery to the hotel as it was late. No food service in the evening which I thought was odd. The hotel did try and book us in for the other nights though."
