"Clean room, No Wi-Fi, No restaurant, looks like it has been closed for some time, except when used for breakfast, pile of mattresses in reception area bit off putting, parking for bikers was excellent with the ability to park in a secure area provided by staff. Reception was a bit confusing would have liked to have been informed about how the Breakfast worked and what time etc. I would say in its heyday it was an impressive place. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, you get a clean room, helpful staff and secure bike parking plus its great value."

"Hidden gem. Excellent value accommodation with large bedroom and bathroom featuring quality fittings aligning with the period house. We had a delightful hot breakfast with a great selection of freshly prepared ingredients. Pleasant garden surroundings great to walk around and explore. Ample on-site parking too. Staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately due to our UK travel plans we could only stay for 1 night. Located close to a nice country pub within walking distance having great family facilities too."

"We booked in for two nights, no breakfast. Whilst the room was clean it was absolutely soulless, no pictures on the walls, no soft furnishings of any kind, nothing that made it anything other than a functional space. On the flip side, the bathroom was obviously newly decorated and was luxurious in comparison to the bedroom although the shower was a bit ‘weedy’. No one cleaned our room whilst we were there, or checked "

"Clean room, a good heater and shower the breakfast was ok. My room was overlooking a housing estate but it was very quiet (Thursday) not sure what it would be like noise wise on a weekend though."

"Extremely disappointed - spa and pool closed due to building work, not clearly stated on Expedia. Specifically booked for these facilities after a very long drive. Hotel needed updating and didn’t feel immaculately clean. Front desk was a mess. Paid £144 for one night in a room that felt like a Premier Inn room with a fridge added. Stains on carpet, no pictures or nice touches apart from robes and slippers. Sofabed looked tired and old. Cooked breakfast was good but continental had only mandarin segments - no other fruit and no choice of cereals or pasties. Dining room was bland and dark with no atmosphere - we asked to put music on as it was deathly quiet. Best thing was free parking in a lovely historic town and the shoe shop opposite which was a Sketchers outlet selling end of line with at least 50% discount. Thai restaurant a few doors down from hotel was excellent with outstanding food. Wouldn’t stay again. "
