Brown Willy: the Highest Point

The Tor is actually an ancient volcanic 'plug' and is located a short distance north-west of Bolventor, in east Cornwall. Dozmary Pool: the Stuff of Legends

One of the most popular spots of legend on the moor is Dozmary Pool. The small body of water is said to be the home of the Lady of the Lake, who offered the famous sword Excalibur to King Arthur. It's said that the sword was hurled into the pool once again following King Arthur's death in battle. The water is also home to some spectacular animal and plant-life.

Areas of natural beauty tend to lend themselves to outdoor activities. Fortunately for golfers, there are plenty of fine courses in the county, particularly in the area around Bodmin Moor.
