"Context matters a great deal. A positive review of the Gresham does not mean this is the accommodation for everyone. This is not a fancy hotel. This is not a particularly comfortable hotel. This a definitely not an hotel for anyone with mobility issues or someone who thinks sharing a bathroom with other guests is a non-starter. But the Gresham worked for my needs. I simply needed a place to sleep for one night during a quick trip to London. I arrived late and left early. The reception was friendly. The room had a shiny new floor. The in-room sink was clean. The staff thoughtfully put us on a floor with no other guests, so I didn't really have to share the bathroom with anyone. I also liked the charming Bloomsbury Street location. So this hotel is fine for someone who thinks of their accommodation a simple, clean place to sleep. On that level, the Gresham staff exceeds fully."
