"Parking was a bit difficult. Had to park across the street in an underground and pay €14 per night. The breakfast was remarkable and the best we have ever had in any hotel traveling. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They didn't seem to know how to find an ATM. Suggest that information be available to travelers who need to exchange currency."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Berneck?
The best area to stay in Berneck is the village centre, which offers convenient access to local attractions and a pleasant setting.

The village centre is quite compact and is where you'll find most of the local amenities. The main street, Hauptstrasse, runs through the middle, with the Berneck Castle ruins overlooking the village from a nearby hill. It's a very walkable area with traditional Black Forest architecture.

For couples looking for a relaxing getaway, the village centre is ideal. You're close to local restaurants serving regional cuisine and can easily access walking paths leading into the surrounding forests. Many hotels here offer views of the valley or the castle ruins, providing a picturesque backdrop for your stay.

Families will also find the village centre practical. It's easy to get to the local playground and the small shops for everyday needs.
When is the best time to go to Berneck?
The best time to visit Berneck is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is warm and ideal for outdoor activities.

During these months, the Berneck region truly comes alive. The vineyards are lush, and the opportunities for hiking, cycling, and exploring the Black Forest are plentiful. The average temperatures are pleasant, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it comfortable for leisurely strolls through the town or more strenuous adventures in the surrounding nature.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, early autumn in September is also a wonderful choice. The grape harvest season brings a special charm, and many local wineries offer tastings and events. The landscape begins to show hints of autumnal colours, providing a picturesque backdrop for walks and drives.

Families travelling with children will find the summer months, particularly July and August, perfect.
