Bad service, low quality.
I feel cheated. They didn’t said in advanced that the room doesn’t have restrooms and showers inside the room, and in fact it’s a SHARED SHOWER! and SHARED RESTROOMS. I’ve asked to see the room before the check in and the guy at the reception refused to show me until the check in. After the check in he told me about the shared shower and didn’t accept my request to cancel the booking. be safe and stay away from this place.

Dear Mr Haim, We offer different categories of rooms suitable for any budget from low to high. The guest is always free to choose the best alternative for themselves. . The information is seen during the booking process. It is clear you booked the eco-class room with bathroom outside the room (shared bathroom). The hotel receptions desk welcomed you after the standard check-in times in order to make sure you do check-in and able to stay with us :)

Not worth a 5th of what we paid
Here’s the deal. For a deep deep discount hotel it’s probably fine. It’s like a bad, dated hostel. But we paid 240 euros for a night. And we had to share a crappy bathroom way down the hall. I get the law of supply and demand. But if you’re gonna charge roughly 300 dollars/240 euros a night don’t expect to get a good review if your hotel is worth maybe 1/5 of that.

These people don't care
These people are not nice to deal with. Put in the wrong date by mistake when making the reservation. Called them 5 minutes later to correct and they would not work with me at all. You might be tempted to book it because the price might look good but if they can find any way to take advantage of you they will. I'm sure they booked someone else into the room we paid for and laughed about it.

It was ok, if you're just looking for a cheap place to sleep for a night (it wasn't even really that cheap) then it would be an option but don't expect anything other than a bed and one shared bathroom (that locks but doesn't really lock since everyone has the key) for the whole hotel. The wifi is very poor, the location is at least 20 minutes (by public transportation) away from everything.

The only downside here was a shared shower and toilet that was in use by all hotel residents. Other than that, it was cheap and in a good location, perfect for someone looking to spend their time out in town and not in a hotel.

Good location, friendly staff, big room
The staff at Hotel de Ela were extremely friendly and helpful with any queries or directions we needed. The location was great as we were going out to bars nearby at night, and it is just minutes from a U-bahn station. The room was big, with beautiful high ceilings and very clean. The only negative point I have to make is about the layout of the rooms- the bathrooms are not attached to the bedrooms, so "private bathroom" actually meant a bathroom down the corridor from the room rather than an en suite. Our room was also right next to the reception and front door of the hotel and noise-wise it didn't feel very private. We could here people coming and going and therefore knew they could hear us in our room. Other rooms in the hotel would not have this problem and despite this privacy issue we had a lovely stay.

Not too bad if cost is a key consideration
Not your typical hotel. It is a modified old building with shops on the ground floor. The room was small especially the bathroom, about 1 metre X 1 metre. To get to the reception you must climb 2 flights of stairs. Outside the reception, there is an old elevator that can take you higher. However, getting into the elevator with 2 suitcases is a challenge. It was usually easier to simply take the stairs. You can use the train to get to the hotel from the airport. The hotel is about 200 yards from Victoria Luisse Platz Metro/U Bahn Stop. However, part of the way is on cobbled stones, so it can be a challenge with heavy suitcases. If staying for more than a day, buy the Berlin card and use it to travel around Berlin including to/from the airport. We didn't take the breakfast option but opted to eat (like most of the locals) in the pastry shop just around the corner. The owner of the pastry shop, a very jovial chap, was French and spoke German with an accent, very reminiscent of the lead character from the comedy series "Allo Allo"

basic hotel ok for 2 nights with extern bathroom
only reservation was it had an external but private bathroom, and you needed your keys every time you wanted to use it - walk 20 meters up the corridor with your towel around you. Guess we hadn't realised this. The 3 keys (street entrance, door key, bathroom/toilet key, all look the same, so question of trying the correct key. Room very basic but OK. Breakfast Euro 8 - all cold stuff - toast, cheese, sausage, boiled eggs, etc - muesli, but for thaty price one could walk a block and have a fully cooked breakfast (ham/eggs/bacon etc) incl coffee or tea and juice - so we think better value.

Restroom is 10 meters away from room
I've never stayed at a hotel where the restroom is so far away, we got our own, but I could see other families sharing baths with other guests. I would not call this a hotel but a hostel. SQUEAKY wooden floors, so you can hear everyone in the middle of the night walking to restrooms, it was very difficult to sleep. Nice staff but very bad hotel.

Very happy with the value at the price i paid.Rooms clean and light and airy furnishings are ok if a little basic.Staff where friendly and helpful. Location for transport and places to eat and drink are excellnt . Only one downside is the curtains on the widows are not wide enough which allows far to much light in in the early morning. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money if staying in Berlin.

Clean rooms, good location
If you need a place to sleep and don't want to pay too much this is a good choice. Don't expect anything extraordinary though, this is very basic hotel. Rooms, linen and towels were clean, showers worked well, beds were comfortable and there was also tv in the room. Negative: you get only one key so if there are many persons in the same room who have different timetable it can be difficult. Also there wasn't safety box in the room but overall the hotel felt secure. Location is good. Nearest metrostation is few minutes walk away and metrostation with good connections (the station near KaDeWe department store) is about 15 minutes walk away. There is also taxi stand next to the nearest metrostation where you can get to the airport pretty easily. There are few cafes also nearby (one just around the corner) where you can get breakfast for few euros. Hotels wireless internet connection didn't work all the time. When I tried to use the wifi internet in the mornings I had problems but at the nighttime the internet worked well.

This hotel is like a hostel. It's in an appartment building and you have to climb steps to first floor to "reception". Room with private bathroom, means that the bathroom is in corridor 10 meters from your room. It is "private", you have your own key. Free parking means that you can park in the streets free. WI-FI was included, and it worked fine. It seemed to be the only good thing in this place. Thankfully we stayed only one night, bad thing was that it was +33 degrees outside, no AC and the windows had to be left open for the heat. Windows are straight to the busy street.

I stayed for 5 nights and each night was very quiet and comfortable. There are three tram stations close by but one of the lines is being updated and it was a little difficult to get around. The staff was amazing and the best I have ever had. Breakfast was also great but it cost extra.

Hotel De Ela - convenient and functional
The location of this Hotel is great for a short stay in Schoneberg. It isn't premier league hotel space and could probably do with a bit of a spruce up, but otherwise it was functional and pleasant enough. The people were nice and helpful when necessary. The room was cleaned at 5pm which, while appreciated, was a little unorthodox.

The hotel staff was the nicest people I have ever encountered. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was a nice size and easily accommodated our family. It is a quite area and close to shopping and transportation. The free parking is street parking on a small street, so if you cannot parallel park you might be in trouble. Finding a spot could be a challenge. The hotel is in a lovely old building that is very nicely kept. I would go back just for the staff.

The place is located in an old building and runned as family business by two nice people. And this is the best part. The room we got was a bit filthy, curtains and hangings were very dirty and stained. The bathroom was made as a toi-toi cabin style within the room. It was not comfortable as there was no air ventilation and after 2 min shower it was more like a sauna. The shower curtains were so stained in the bottom that I was scared to touch it. The TV had 8-12 channels but all in German. It is a shame that there is not even one channel in English or music/sports channel so It was useless. The Wi-Fi does not work. It worked once or twice during 3-day staying but usually it did not work (90% of the time). The "free private parking" means that you can park on nearby streets for free If you find a place to but it is quite crowdy. It is not a private parking and one might not be happy to leave his car on the street. The breakfast was just okay but very limited choice. One cheese type, one cold meat type, bread and butter. That's it. No eggs, sausages or whatsoever. In addition to that the U2 line is under renovation so you need to take 3 different trains to get to the center. Iw was not a nightmare as we did not expect anything and we were not spending too much time in there. However I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not visit it again.

You get what you pay for
I had a better stay here than expected. At first glance, I was disappointed at the very small size of the room. However, the very nice staff and breakfast made up for that. This was a good location in that it was close to two train stations that would lead to the center of the city. Overall, I had a good experience and would consider coming back to this hotel.

Главная ценность отеля - персонал. Можно ставить "5" с любым количеством плюсов. Всё остальное можно описать как: "Чисто, удобно." Рядом метро, автобус. Душ работает. Фен дают. Постельное белье отличного качества. Снижу оценку за фото на сайте. Одно из фото номера "не совсем" соответствует действительности. Это фото и опубликую в отзыве. Реально всё в три раза меньше. Какие там белые кресла... табурет не влезет. Цена номера 60 Евро за ночь, но справедливее было бы в районе 40. А вообще, нормально.

Stary zaniedbany hotel w bardzo dobrej lokalizacji
Hotel to parter w kamienicy w centrum Berlina. Recepcja czynna tylko do godziny 22 jest sporym problemem. Meble bardzo już wiekowe, niekompletne- przy 4 łóżkach- 2 szafki nocne- jedno biurko, na którym stał telewizor i jedno- bardzo stare krzesło. Brak czajnika. Prysznic z materiałową zasłoną w efekcie -każda kąpiel to zalana kompletnie łazienka. Ręczniki różowo- szare - nie zdecydowałam się skorzystać. Brak miejsc parkingowych przed hotelem.

Il servizio dell'hotel pessimo non c'era una portineria la sera non mi hanno restituito i soldi della caparra perché quando siamo partiti non c'era nessuno alla reception ho dovuto ripagare l'hotel perché quando siamo arrivati in poche parole anche se mi verranno restituiti sia la caparra che il viaggio che ho pagato quando sono arrivato in hotel comunque io ho anticipato il doppio del viaggio ma è successo una cosa del genere e il servizio dell'hotel pessimo perché in reception e chiudevala sera

nous sommes arrivés le soir, il faisait nuit et la porte de l hôtel ne donne pas sur la rue, nous nous sommes légèrement affolés en se demandant si l hôtel était tjrs ouvert, bon en fait comme d hab à Berlin il faut chercher la sonnette qui n est pas vraiment éclairée mais qui ouvert sans soucis les lieux.... s'en est suivi un accueil sympathique dans un cadre cool vieux parquet grandes banquettes. nous y reviendrons, malgré le fait qu on ne puisse pas déjeuner sur place, l hôtel ne fait pas resto. Le gros gros point fort est un arrêt de métro très proche.
