"Very good location, beautiful lake view and their pet deer keep you entertained from the expansive porch. We were on motorcycles so we didn’t take advantage of the lake but the roads kept us busy all week."

"We had a great stay at SML! The house had a wonderful setup and felt very comfortable and homey. One of our favorite features was the covered, screened-in porch overlooking the lake—we ended up eating every meal out there and really enjoyed the view.The dock was also great, especially the covered portion that provided plenty of shade while still letting us enjoy being right on the water.The host reached out before our trip and provided all the information we needed, which made check-in and the entire stay easy and stress-free.We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing stay at Smith Mountain Lake!"
The Lake House on Sunset Point - Lakefront home with private dock & pool table

"The home was comfortable and clean. The kitchen could be better stocked with pots and pans and better organized. There was a skillet which had been used and not cleaned - it had thick grease in it. The lower outdoor level had not been cleaned for a good while: patio dirty, cushions stained and dirty. We would never rent this property again though because of the humidity/wet situation on the lower level. There was a dehumidifier in the queen bedroom. When I stepped near it, my foot got wet. I found that a large area of the carpeting around it was wet. It also smelled of mildew throughout the lower level. Our grandchildren were sleeping in the twin bedroom and our daughter was concerned for their health sleeping there. We ended up keeping all doors open down there to somewhat air it out. If the doors to the queen bedroom were left closed, the odor was unbearable. We only stayed because of all the prep and travel that had gone into our visit."

"This property was gorgeous! We enjoyed the pier and the property greatly! I was a bit disappointed in the landscaping with weeds that were taller than ourselves. Otherwise it was amazing!"

"Awesome location on the lake! The home was clean and very kid-friendly for my grandkids. The owner was so very kind and offered use of her personal dock since the water was too low for use of the rental docks for boating or swimming. Gorgeous views on the main channel for coffee or cocktails on the dock.NOTE: The ice cream boat goes right by 8pm but you need noodles to wave at him so he can see you on the dock!"

"This house is such a wonderful spot. The rooms are perfect for lots of guests to all have their own space. Adult rooms are plenty far away from the kids' ! :D The cove that it is in is perfect for swimming and boating out of. The porch has a huge table for dinners which was perfect. This is an older house and the pictures show that. There is some maintenance that could be done to the stairs and such. However, everything is very comfortable and clean and well equipped.A note about the water level, as we were nervous checking in. The dock is not able to be used for boat tie up. We just beached our boat and that worked perfectly ... actually way easier than docking anyway. For swimming, the beaches work perfectly as well. So there was really nothing to worry about and I would/will book this place again even with the low water level."
