Great hotel with an amazing view of Bangkok.

Posted 25-Apr-2017
We were happy to be across the river from the main part of Bangkok in the beautiful Peninsula. The private boat shuttle across the river is perfect. My only complaint is that the pool was way too hot. The grounds and service are impeccable. I would return here in a heart beat.

Beautiful hotel located on the Chao Praya river

Posted 22-Apr-2017
Pros: Its river location and the beauty and overall excellence of its facilities
Cons: The quality of the food of its waterfront terrace restaurant. It is expensive and not up to the hotel's standard.
Location: Its river location is key to enjoy Bangkok's busy river activities
Aside from the luxury of its facilities and the beauty of its tropical gardens, the hotel's location on the Praya River invites guests to use the hotel's boat shuttle service to move about Bangkok

Amazing hotel and staff in an ideal location. The room was large and well equipped with everything one could want. The staff is amazing. Hotel has its own shuttle boat for traveling to other venues on demand.

Fantastic hotel

Posted 15-Apr-2017
We have stayed in several 5 star hotels in Bangkok including the Banyan Tree and the Peninsula is our favourite so far. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was great with 2 children and the views were incredible. The staff were excellent and the boat shuttle across the river is very convenient and fun for the children. My only negative was being charged £10 for a bottle of water in the restaurant!

Very hard to beat in Bangkok

Posted 04-Apr-2017
Pros: Staff, location and creature comforts
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing, for £25 per head with taxes I would have expected fresh orange juice amongst a few other things.
Location: Don't miss going out on a river trip, so much to do here for everybody.
Having not been back for a 4 or 5 years it was a pleasure to return to the Peninsular Hotel. Fantastic rooms with wonderful views of the river and Bangkok skyline are hard to replicate anywhere else and the staff really do make you feel special.

Amazing Staff & Hotel! Excellent Value for Luxury!

Posted 03-Apr-2017
Pros: Staff, Accommodations, Free river-crossing shuttle.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Location: About 1.5mi from the Asiatique.
There are a couple hotels in Bangkok that are more expensive but, in my opinion, you are wasting your money- the Peninsula Bangkok was 5 Star all the way. The staff treated us like royalty from the second we pulled up to the entrance. The river-view balcony room was so comfortable and grande- We slept like babies each night. I will most definitely stay at The Peninsula on our next trip to Bangkok.

5 Star on the river

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: 5 star, lovely suite, great view from 31st floor, nice staff
Cons: Stop ripping people off
Location: Wrong side of river
People will say if you can afford to stay at the Pen the don't complain about the prices! Exchange obviously not on our side but, £9 for a small bottle of beer round the pool £15 for a cocktail! lunch with wine again round the pool average food £100, Brunch on Sunday for two £200, it's a joke, we paid in advance for our five nights but decided to spend a night at the 5 Star Royal Wing Suites and Spa in Pattaya for a night, a regular for us, arranged a car early morning, checked into the wing had breakfast, lunch and dinner, checked out 4pm next day and spent about the same as beer, cocktails, brunch and lunch by the pool in the Pen! Prices at the Pen are a total rip off! Also total lack of pool beds, people waiting, PS £19 FOR BEER ROOM SERVICE!

Great hotel but getting old

Posted 17-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, pool, view
Cons: rooms
Location: Take the boat across to Oriental Bamboo Bar., walk in the old streets to see the very few old buildings left in Bangkok. Rest are become skyscrappers
I had been regularly staying in Peninsula Bangkok over 10 years. Needs a renovation. Rooms are deteriorating. Looking old and worn out.
