"This castle is THE dream destination. We went for our Anniversary and everything was perfect from start to finish. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated as were all the public rooms. We felt totally relaxed from the moment we stepped inside. The staff were discrete and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. If you want to be treated like Royalty, then this is the place for you. "

"Beautiful location with outstanding views. Very friendly staff. The port itself is a beautiful fishing harbour with a lovely pub/restaurant. If walking to the port harbour from the hotel you need to be quite agile as it's a cliff walk but the steps are very safe and there's plenty of benches to rest on along the way. Very amenable hotel. "Our flat, Apartment 5, was a great flat with all that you may need and even more (Loved that it has an Echo, an air fryer (The first time we have one in a holiday rental), a washing machine, a bed with an amazing mattress and pillows, It is the first time I sleep in a bed which is not mine and I do not get neckaches in the morning after the first few nights…). The flat is spacious, comfortable, decorated with taste, clean, and was offering a lot. It was perfect for the two of us It is well located, very central, and within walking distance from the Stranraer shops, the museum, historic sites, and most of the restaurants. There is a free car park two minutes walk from the apartments, we could our car from our windows as well as the east harbour which is opposite the building. The apartment building is also very close (with a car) to a lot of sites we visited, among them, different lighthouses, Port Logan, Portpatrick, and our favourite place, Sandhead, with its wonderful beach. The tourism office, just opposite the flats, is worth a visit. All in all, we really enjoyed our week over there, and we will definitely stay there again when we are next in the area. "
