Barnard Castle

"I stay here on a regular basis when I travel between Glasgow and the south. The hotel is a grand old building in a beautiful little hamlet off the A1 with lots of history. Due to this and the fact its family owned and not part of a huge chain, it’s a bit worn in places but it’s clean, comfortable and cosy with plenty of charm and quirks.. The staff are lovely, welcoming, very helpful and do their best to make your stay a good one. There’s a spa, a bar and a restaurant, the food is delicious...

This will narrow your options to properties that allow pets. Once you find a hotel you're interested in, click on it and review the "Policies" section for specific details about their pet policy. This often includes information about pet types, size restrictions, fees, and whether pets are allowed in all rooms or only certain ones. When selecting your room type, read the room description to check that its pet-friendly, as not all rooms in a pet-friendly hotel may accommodate pets. For added peace of mind, contact the hotel directly to confirm the room you've selected allows pets.
What pet-friendly activities should we do in Aysgarth?
The best pet-friendly activities in Aysgarth centre around the stunning natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, particularly the Aysgarth Falls.

The Aysgarth Falls themselves are a series of broad limestone steps over the River Ure, easily accessible from the car park near the National Park Visitor Centre. There are well-maintained footpaths through woodland that run alongside the falls, allowing for lovely walks with your dog on a lead. You can enjoy the Upper, Middle, and Lower Falls, with plenty of spots for photos.

For families with pets, a walk around the falls is a superb outing. The paths are generally flat and easy to navigate for children and dogs alike, with clear signage. There are open fields nearby where dogs can have a run, provided they are under control, especially around livestock.
