"If you book this hotel and you use Google maps to find it, then put in Gandullas only as this is the village the hotel is in. Maps took me to 3 different places before some locals at my third stop gave me the correct address. They said I was in Pinuecar and not Gandullas. Very hard to find. But then I was able to access the property but there is nothing in the village by way of bars or restaurants. I had to go onto the next town to find something to eat. "This hotel is brand new and has only been open for a little over a month. Front desk staff was great, housekeeping responsive to requests, and facilities are fresh, albeit a little sterile in styling.
The lighting system in the room has a couple of oddities-one light switch at the door is the master for the room so if you turn it off the power chargers don't work. Weird.
Easy to get to downtown Madrid via Renfe and Metro-the station is a 5 minute walk and getting into Sol takes about 25 minutes. The whole area is on a huge growth trajectory."
"This hotel is awesome if you need a good night sleep and are craving a feeling of luxury at a great price. The soundproofing is awesome. I didn’t hear any doors slamming or any voices or street noise or anything. And I’m super sensitive! One thing to keep in mind is that there isn’t coffee in the rooms unless you get a particular room category which is two levels above superior apparently. I had a superior room and there was a kettle and some Nescafé instant coffee and teabags. There is a machine that you are free to use downstairs and you don’t have to pay, but it is only available in the afternoons and in the evening. So if you want an espresso or a cappuccino or you’ll go down to the bar and order it and buy it. This was odd to me because the other places I stayed in Spain had espresso machines in the rooms and little pods. Front desk staff was a mixed bag as far as customer service but I think that that’s kind of normal in Spain – they don’t take customer service as seriously as they do in America. I tried lots of smiles and jokes and was definitely speaking Spanish, and I barely got the guy to crack a smile. Oh well!"
