He took care of my transportation to and from the airport, train station, and any tours that I wanted. He saw to it that I had delicious home-cooked meals served at inconvenient hours, with plenty of drinking water! He knew that Philae and the controversy of damming the Nile were of great interest to me, and not only shared his personal insight, but arranged for a private boat tour with guide and pilot, who took me out to this phoenix of a temple, and then showed me the lake from dam to dam, to show me more of the unimaginable! My stay was cared for by staff who made me feel at home, and let me relax after an arduous journey, while preparing for the next. Ahmed gave me a room with a panoramic view of the harbor and Philae Temple itself! He gifted me more than just a suite, he gave me memories that will last a lifetime. It took a bus, three planes, and a taxi for me to get to Villa Misk, but once there, I could have just sat by their window admiring the view and it would have been worth it, but only because Ahmed was in the background handling all of my concerns! I thank him, and all of the Villa Misk staff for their efforts. Each and every one of them went out of their way to make my stay a beautiful memory. Thank you for sharing your home with me!" Since the resort is located uphill, we had to take a tuktuk to go up and down to the village. The ride can be a bit bumpy and dusty, which some people might not enjoy, but it didn’t bother us at all and added a touch of adventure to the experience.
