Thanks so much for the review! The water level at the beach varies year by year and thankfully you were able to come when the water level is low making the beaches larger. Happy your dog was able to enjoy that! And thanks for noting the road noise. Some cabin locations can hear it and some can't--so sorry you were in one where it was noticeable. Thank you for the kind review Lauren! There are a lot of fun things to do in this area any time or year--I hope the weather is warmer the next time you visit so you can hang out at the beach! Yes, cottage 9 would be awesome with a door separating the bedroom from living room wouldn't it--epically when traveling with a toddler! I'm guessing great grandpa didn't consider that when he was building this cottage for loggers and hunters way (way) back in the day. We sincerely appreciate your feedback. Since we took over management of the family cottages from our grandfather we have been working one by one to get them fixed up. Because no one else had mentioned the bed was uncomfortable I didn't realize we had to move replacing it up on the priority list. Rest assured that the next time you stay with us you will get a good nights sleep on a comfortable new mattress!!! And we will get the hot water heater in the bathroom serviced asap! We appreciate your honest review of our "small blue" cottage (cottage 12) Karen. You are right, Cottage 12 is not set up for small children or people with mobility issues. After taking over management of this amazing property from our grandfather we have been working year by year to make improvements and love to hear feedback from our guests. We take your input seriously and will check into pouring a larger concrete step at the entrance. We are sorry that you didn’t like our cute little cottage. It was built in the 1930’s and most people love it’s old fashioned charm--especially the huge windows in the bedrooms that hook up to the ceiling letting in the sound of the waves of Lake Superior at night. We have talked about replacing them but haven’t yet because people just love them. If our bedding was not up to your standards I wish you would have contacted us right away as we would have been more than happy to replace it for you. We have never received a complaint about the cleanliness of our cottages and would have done everything we could have to address your needs and make sure you left happy.
