Loved our stay at Chalet Burlap! Hotel was not the newest but has a very traditional Japanese rustic charm - very very clean!! We had the traditional tatami rooms which were very nice and comfortable. Our room was very spacious with an ensuite, the onsite onsen is a massive bonus, and the breakfast is great! Short walk to the ski hill, and the service from everyone working there was excellent. Close to the resort, shops, food and public transportation. Very friendly and helpful staff. I only got the names of Emma and Albert, but all the staff were great people. They went out of their way to help as much as possible. They speak English. Cool lobby/bar/lounge area. Dry ski room storage. Shuttle from station. My back went out on the plane. He saw my distress and kindly moved my heavy luggage up the stairs to my room. Onsen helped relieve my pain. Draft beer also helped as well as free whiskey. The staff is amazing and helped us every day with dinner reservations. The onsen on site was terrific, and the breakfast was delicious.
