"This was our “splurge” hotel for our trip. The guy at the front desk was not friendly. Other staff were friendly. The restaurant was closed on tuesdays for dinner. Really? You have this amazing resort and you close the restaurant?? We arrived early and planned to use some amenities while waiting on our room to be ready. Went to the spa to inquire. The doors were locked and there was a number on the door to text, so I did and never heard back. Overall, not happy with our stay. I wouldn’t spend the money at this hotel. Stay in Carmel and visit this place for lunch if you want to see it. "

"I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a really nice experience. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. One of the best parts is definitely the location—the beach being right there makes it super convenient and adds a lot to the stay. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to relax and enjoy the ocean.That said, there were a few things that felt misleading. The hotel advertises certain amenities as being included, but that’s not really the case. Things like the bikes and the “wine wall” are labeled as free, but they actually deduct a daily fee from your deposit to cover them. So you’re essentially paying for these “included” amenities whether you use them or not, which wasn’t clearly explained upfront.Another downside was the parking. They charge $50 per day, which already feels excessive, and the “in and out privileges” they mention honestly just seem like a way to make the fee sound better than it is. It doesn’t really add value for the price you’re paying. What was most frustrating, though, was the customer service after I noticed these charges. When I called to ask about it, the person I spoke to was rude and dismissive. She interrupted the conversation and essentially ended the call by saying there was nothing she could do and “bye,” which was pretty unprofessional.Overall, it’s a nice place to stay, especially for the beach access, but just be aware of the extra costs and lack of transparency, along with the customer service experience"

"The room size was just decent. Breakfast was a letdown. Not a lot of food choices; no sausages or bacon. If ever there were bacon, they serve very little. Oatmeal was not enough either as most of the time, it was already finished by the second hour of breakfast. There was only 1 person in charge of breakfast as she is juggling between refilling the food, replenishing the coffee and juices as well as picking up the used plates, cutlery and replacing them with new ones. We have to wait a few times for food and plates as well as spoon and forks. They should instead just use paper plates and disposable spoon and forks. Offer more food variety too or better yet add another person to help. The entrance should also be lighted; add illumination to the word Hotel Abrego as people struggle at night to see the entrance to the hotel which by the way was awkward enough to enter. Good luck to the business as we won’t be coming back. "

"Parkingis a challenge. Onsite valet only at the back of the buildibg for $39 a day. Public lots are nearby. Rooms are charming but ours was very warm even though it was cold outsude. No A/C in our room."

" improve: The breakfast was fine, but parking was limited and one evening due to lack of any spots I tried to park in a narrow single spot on far top covered area. there are these round cylindrical cement on the bases of the wall and my car could not pass through and caused damages to low part of my rare passenger side. I wish I could attach a picture for you to see. the Parking overall was very difficult and problematic. The breakfast was fine, but parking was very limited. One evening, because no spots were available, I attempted to park in a narrow space on the far upper level covered parking spots. There were round concrete cylinders at the base of the wall that weren’t clearly visible, and my car couldn’t pass through without hitting them. This caused damage to the lower rear passenger side of my vehicle. I wish I could share a photo to show exactly what happened. Overall, the parking situation was difficult and frustrating."

"Good location. Most staff was friendly and helpful; but the stopper in the bathtub didn't work and when I reported it, nothing was done about it. Also, tubs did not have non-slip mats; and I saw many elderly guests staying there. Free coffee and parking are great."
