Incredible view of Alta from the 6th floor. Clean & quiet. Heated floors in bathroom. Very helpful staff! Superior breakfast! Conditions were icy, so wonderful that Peppe's Pizza was next door (delicious), and the 3-story mall could be accessed without going outside. Breakfast would have cost at least $40 each in a nice American hotel. Walking distance to Northern Lights Cathedral and top restaurants in area. Wise decision to stay here!

Nice large room with nice view of Cathedral northern light..next to the mall with lot of choices of restaurants and supermarket. Only downside parking not belong to hotel so have to pay 150 nok. Still it's a good hotel to stay..

Nice Hotel, late check in without a problem, great room. The only problem was payment from Expedia to the hotel. Which coused problems with ceck out.

Good hotel
Great hotel in the centre of Alta. Near the bus station and some rooms overlook the cathedral. Room was larger than most standard rooms. Very clean. There is a small gym. Breakfast buffet am and you can access a pizza restaurant from the lobby. Go through this and you are in the shopping centre. No bear in the lobby which other reviews have stated so probably hibernating.

Everything was perfect. The front desk was very helpful. The room was clean with a kitchenette. The bathroom was excellent.

The breakfast was amazing, and the room was very good as well. However, without a credit card they made me give them a 1000 kroner security deposit. As I was flying back home the next day it cost me time and money to exchange this money back into euros. They wouldn't accept euros as safety deposit.

The rooms are well laid out, very comfortable bed, useful kitchenette unit and nice bathroom with underfloor heating. The breakfast is OUTSTANDING, with the best range and choice I have seen anywhere (and I've stayed in a lot of high end places), even including vitamin and omega 3 supplements if that's what you want! Staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Bonus that we ended up on the 5th floor with a great view of the cathedral. I thoroughly recommend this hotel!

The friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate any request and answer all questions. If you visit Alta (and you should) then this is the place to stay.

Excellent Hotel
We were only there for one night but our experience was great. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and a good size for my husband, two kids and myself. The most amazing thing was the free breakfast buffet the next morning! It was by far the best breakfast buffet we have ever had.

A few days in Alta
Both the Thon and Scandic hotels are in the central area of Alta both are large and modern The breakfast was ok but the coffee was u drinkable. Staff are good and virtually ebverone can speak English.
