"Check in was prompt, and the staff were friendly and professional. Room was nice, had an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and tea/coffee. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay there again."

"Beautiful old main building. Bedroom comfortable but the bathroom could have been better maintained. Breakfast was excellent with good quality food but the breakfast room is very dark. On Expedia it said our booking included dinner but it was only a £30 allowance. The sea food was perfectly cooked but meat courses were average. The place was overrun with weddings which blocked ac ess to the bar on occasion. The swimming pool was lovely."

"Very well maintained , staff all top standard , breakfast - cooked and contintntal options were all good. Slight minus point re. the coffee -slightly lower quality than expected. ALso - would benefit from non slip arrangement in the shower. Otherwise very happy ! "

"Great location near a shopping centre and about 15 minutes walk to the old town and with the benefit of free parking.The room was a good size with a wardrobe a set of quite big drawers all the staff were very helpful and friendly . I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends."

"Would not say it was worth the price looks to be an old school repurposed. Beds are not comfortable very springy. And layout was odd, not even a mini fridge in the room, TV was useless not able to play Netflix or YouTube nothing"

"After staying at a very small and old hotel in London, staying here was like a five star resort and we loved it. Definitely recommend! "

"Gorgeous building, room and well maintained gardens, however for a 5* hotel the service was poor, the staff seemed less than enthusiastic towards guests and there was no feeling of warmth or welcome from them. Possibly because they where so few in number. The hotel seriously lacks enough staff to provide much of a service. They hardly provide you with any extras in the room with only 2 coffee pods provided each day with nothing other than coffee top ups provided beyond the first day. The spa area was fantastic, 10 years ago but now its very worn and showing its age.I couldnt believe that for this level of hotel how dirty and unclean it was. Brown tide marks around the pool, black mould on the shower heads in the thermal area and the ice room smelt mouldy and was covered in black mould especially around the tube where the ice came out, the shower head and the cubicle. All the fancy showers in the thermal area didnt work as they should or didnt work at all. Most of the thermal pool jets didnt work apart from the odd few, tiles were missing, dirty windows and unclean floors. This hotel whilst lovely needs to seriously look at the service it is providing especially to guests who stay beyond a couple of days and invest maintenance and a deep clean of its spa area. Sadly this was far from a five star experience. "
