We loved the place: it’s a charming, quaint old cottage that’s had a sympathetic B&B conversion and is exceptionally neat, tidy and spotlessly clean. James and Katherine are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and good fun. Everything in the breakfast room was beautifully presented and laid out with precision, and the hearty breakfast was, of course, exceptional! Everything is home-made or sourced locally. James makes his own bread, preserves and granola. Our room was “bijou” but...

A hidden gem just outside Ilchester. Lovely greeting from the owner and shown to our room in The Barn which was beautifully appointed. Had dinner and was very impressed with the quality of food , though the service was patchy . Breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared using local produce so we were well set up for the rest of the day

What a lovely surprise. You never really know until you arrive, but there it was, handy and unmissable there in the station car park. The staff knew my name and greeted me when I arrived. The place has just been refurbished after being derelict and they have done a beautiful job. The train travel theme is great - especially since I stayed there after travelling on the last ever 125 out of Paddington, and it still smells new. My room and bathroom had huge original windows; it make such a change...

The reception staff who greeted us (two young men) were the most friendly, polite and efficient you could ever wish for - a credit to your hotel.

Considered loop walk based in Litton, Somerset. Large car park at inn close to quaint village of Litton. Great welcome by Ben and George. Upgrade room and tour. Noticed thoughtful inclusion of easy access room and adjoining carer's room. Cosy inn outside and in. Chilled front patio and rear deck area by stream. Blankets supplied! Dinner and breakfast good. Modern, clean hotel, large rooms with seating area, large bathroom with lovely fluffy white towels, super king sized bed with crisp white sheets. Air conditioning throughout the hotel is a bonus but what really makes this hotel special is all the staff who are friendly and helpful. Extra £5 pp per day if you want cooked breakfast but well worth it as the choice is good.
