Love this place. The village is beautiful and full of Cotswolds charm, whilst the pub is an absolute delight for foodies. Tremendous value given the quality of the accommodation and the food. Our room was luxurious and spacious. Loved the 100 Acres toiletries, the farmhouse-style breakfast and the super-comfortable bed. This is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

Had complimentary upgrade to 'Wisdom' garden room - it was absolutely delightful. Great breakfast each day. Ate from the Bar menu on one evening which was delicious! Very high calibre of staff and nothing was too much trouble! 2 minute walk to main High Street with nice quirky shops to nose around.

We had a fantastic time at the Lords of the Manor, it really is an exceptional hotel. A very relaxed atmosphere and the staff make you feel at home as soon as you walk in. They were especially accommodating with our dog who stayed with us. The hotel gardens are huge and we’re a lot bigger than we thought, stretching down to the river. It’s a great place to explore the Cotswolds.

Having stayed here before a few times, I knew it was going to be very good again. Food served swiftly and very hot. Nice service and good choice. Had a four poster bed in the room which was great and the noisy floorboards added to the character of the hotel. Good choice for food over breakfast from continental to cooked English breakfast. Pleasant hosts and clean in a great location to visit the Cotswolds. Recommended

I don't normally use superlatives but for this place I am prepared to make an exception. We stayed for two nights and from start to finish it was an excellent experience. The welcome was warm. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was spotless - both the room and the common areas. The food was superb, the menu creative and the table service friendly and timely without being intrusive. Portion size was good too. Throughout our stay we were struck by the attention to detail. All the...

We were wedding guests at the nearby Hyde Barn. We chose it because it was over the road. It is within walking distance but there is no pavement and it’s a pretty busy road so we drove there and walked back when the road was quieter although pretty dark.
We were in room 201 and it was lovely and cool even though it was 30 degrees. It was quiet at night despite being so close to a main road. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was a little disappointing but overall it was a great stay

Excellent stay in a remarkable Manor house. We had lovely views of the field from our room. The breakfast service is excellent! I can recommend this hotel for a great Cotswolds experience.

I came to Cirencester with a friend to do some Christmas shopping and The Old Brewhouse was the perfect location for our purposes. Rosemary was friendly and helpful; the accommodation was very clean and beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious! We would love to come again.

The best area to stay in Aldsworth is the village centre, particularly around the High Street.
This area is the heart of Aldsworth, offering a quintessential Cotswold experience. The High Street is lined with traditional stone cottages, independent shops, and welcoming pubs, all within a short stroll of each other. It's very walkable and provides easy access to the village's main points of interest, including the historic church and the village green.
Couples looking for a tranquil and scenic getaway will find the village centre ideal. You'll be perfectly placed for leisurely walks through the rolling countryside, enjoying cream teas in local cafes, and evenings spent by a pub fireplace. The convenience of having everything on your doorstep means a relaxed and romantic stay.
For those seeking a quiet rural escape, the village centre is also an excellent choice. It offers a peaceful base from which to explore the wider Cotswolds, with many walking trails starting directly from the village.
When is the best time to go to Aldsworth?
The best time to visit Aldsworth is generally during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
During spring, the Cotswolds come alive with blooming wildflowers and lush green landscapes. The weather is typically mild and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the villages and countryside walks without the peak summer crowds. You'll find the gardens at their most beautiful, and local attractions begin to extend their opening hours.
Autumn also offers wonderful conditions with crisp air, fewer visitors, and the stunning colours of the changing leaves. It's a great time for enjoying the footpaths and cosying up in traditional pubs after a day of sightseeing. The harvest season brings special menus to many local eateries.
While summer (July and August) can be lovely with longer daylight hours, it's also the busiest time, so popular attractions and accommodation can be more crowded and expensive.
